The reason that Motman can get a gig like that is that he lives in a good area, within easy running distance from Boston, Hartford, and NYC. I prefer the open road thanks. :P  I am currently in Des Moines. We leave out tomorrow on a 7 stop fire hydrant run , OH, NY, CT, MA  Should be fun. We had a 5 stop plastic pipe run this week. My name is Attila BTW...

Hey TMC Drivers,
On this boring at-home weekend I took the TMC Revenue Book Percentage Excel spreadsheet and fixed it. There were some mistakes in it. I also added a column that lets you know what your per mile pay would be, based on dispatch PLUS bounce miles. If you would like a copy, PM me with your e-mail address and I will send it to you. You need Microsoft Excel to run it.

It was interesting to see some APU's being installed on trucks. I guess as a test thing.

Training comments:
I am in week 4 and totally pleased with my trainer. He never raises his voice. He lets me set the speed - we ran through a thick fog bank in Pennsylvania and he had no problems with the slow speed I took to get out of the truck stop. Once we were on the highway, he offered some guidance on using the Vorad system to help avoid traffic problems ahead. And he wants to schedule the showers and meals regularly, but let's me make the decision. For example, we were driving from Connecticut to Delaware in the afternoon. I knew I would have to take the George Washington bridge in NYC, so I said "NO WAY" to the early dinner and shower he wanted to do in CT. I told him I wanted to keep the wheels rolling until we got to New Jersey or Delaware, then we could get some food. If I'm driving too fast (in Illinois, for instance), he will subtly mention the truck speed limits, but say that it is my decision on how fast to run. Due to the short week for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I am going to request an additional week of training. Both my trainer and training coordinator said that is OK with them and it is my decision. I'm 56 so some of our customers who saw me asked the trainer if he was bringing along his father. Tarping is not as bad as some people mention. The only problem I've run into is when the tarp and straps freeze on the truck. They are much more difficult to roll up when frozen.

They mostly sell to police officers. They're comparatively priced; some models have steel toe and are non-slip. What sold me is that they are extremely lightweight and are molded to your feet like running shoes. They're designed for guys who have to climb fences, run, jump off things and walk on rooftops . . . perfect for the flat bed in your future! EDIT: Runner-up was a boot made by a company called ARIAT. They're more of a western design but also come witrh steel toe and non-slip sole. They're also extremely lightweight and molded to your feet.

Got a question for y'all, got a TMC recruiter coming on Monday to our school
100% would like to work for them but want to know what are some good questions I should ask him. May be redundant IDK. BTW expect to be graduating from TDS on the 11 of Jan. and would probably go to Colombia SC for training, anyone else headed there about that time?

Then, when you get to SC ask Jesse. Curious to see how the numbers compare.

Then, when you get to SC ask Jesse.[/quote] Well i know the turnover rate is high amongst noobies, but both are going to have differing opinions or are you saying the obvious?, the recruiter is going to fudged  a little lol.
