Hope you get something good coming out. BTW, if they give you a load of Sunny Delight bottles going to Texas, it's not as hot a load as dispatch claims. Also, have fun with that shipper's dock. It is NOT made for 53 footers. Go ahead and ask them to pull out a trailer for ya to make it easier.Bosselman's in Des Moines, IA. I wanted to make it to Walcott, but I'm too damned tired. Four AM delivery today. I got there at 3:45, nobody there. Fortunately, receiver showed up a few minutes later, before I started to get nasty w/dispatch. But someone grabbed the empty the other day, so I got to wait for an unload. At least I caught up on my sleep. In other newbie news: Scaled today. And adjusted the tandems. Cool thing is that I said "okay, move it five holes" and I moved it EXACTLY five holes. I'm sure it'll never happen again. I hate roundabouts. 'nuff said. I asked dispatch to update some directions warning that if you miss a turn, you get to deal with a roundabout. Deliver in Lancaster on Thursday. I need to talk to dispatch, because if I can move some things around a bit, I might, just might, be able to see my son on my way through Ohio. Finally being 'captain of the ship' has benefits. Don't talk politics at the truck stop; everyone else is dumber than you and just doesn't get it. On the way down, I stopped in a Pilot-Hisperia-- sent them a update on my hours-- only 3 hours remaining when empty at Sunny, only pick up 4 tomorrow-- suggest if not picking up a re-load right there- that we find a place to park- and carry over those hours so as to work a full day tomorrow. Would like to reset- if it wouldn't cause a problem. Got back a message-- "We're way short on freight today-- if you can give us a good PTA we can start looking for something." I sent back: Well finally for once- your shortage of freight -coincides with my shortage of hours. PTA- for EARLY AM Wednesday and I'll reset and have a fresh 70--and will be expecting to Run. Yeah, starting at 4am from Kingman, Az and live unloading 2 hours early --then back up here to Ontario-- really left me needing a Nap too. Since, I was up until past mid-night last night anyway. Only got 3.5 hours of sleep last night.

be careful with your "interpersonal" communications- people skills right now-
I wouldn't recommend getting too "nasty" at this stage-- remember they are currently forming their "opinion" image of the new "captain" of that ship. Don't bite the hand..... right now.. you should still be on bread & butter & honey for a while ... where you going to in Lancaster-- unless it's High Value load-- shouldn't be any problem letting some of us know-- if you haven't already been there before- we might be able to help with "insider information" . I'd be careful about letting dispatch know too many of the destinations where you would like to visit- spend time at-- they keep secret notes and you might never see that location again...I'm not kidding. But, Ohio is a must state-- almost everything in the country running east-wast has to pass through Ohio or Tn. So you should be safe there. I take it-- you got the other guys crap out of YOUR truck and now they gonna run you by your home 20 to pick up yours?

Went through almost once a week during training. Looking at timing, I'll be passing my kid's house during school, and I gotta keep moving so that I can hit the delivery time on Thursday. I still have the crap in my truck. I'm swinging by Ottawa in about an hour to drop it. And I just put in a hometime request for next weekend. Still a little unsure whether the q-comm to the fm is the way to go or whether I should phone. I think I'll call when I get to Ottawa. (Taking a break at a rest stop to check email and stuff and blundered over here)
