Some little joint at the intersection of NC421 and I77. Could have gotten a little further north, but 500 miles in a day should be enough for anyone. Especially since I get to do it again tomorrow.

This freight kinda sucks. No offers for a couple of hours, then something that picks up at the end of your 14 (and/or 11) and delivers tomorrow. Ugh.

George, I thought you were headed home to pick up your stuff for your new truck? What are you doing down in NC?

got Pillows & Sheets?

lots of bleach and paper-towels( to kill all the crawling crap left behind from the last driver?

got sun glasses?

a motor carrier's atlas( get the laminated one- will last several years & several cups of coffee or coke)

got a CB yet?

a cooler?

p.s. you can pick up a cheap pair of Bolt Cutters at any saturday flea market( 5 bucks or less) get a big package of those jersey gloves too while there.

FM and I will decide Monday am if I will deliver Dearborn or relay it to another driver. Depends on my 70. It will be close if I deliver Dearborn. If I do, Ill do reset in Stoneyridge Oh.

Timing my home time to match my next visitation with my son. Haven't seen him since Christmas. The ex screwed up January, and training interfered with February and March. Didn't get any guff from my FM, but if I had, I would have walked. Haven't seen the kid in too long.

Got a CB while on the road with a trainer. One of the truck stops had a Cobra 29 on sale and a rebate. Brought a big print atlas with me (which I think can get you into almost as much trouble as it can get you out of).

I wear Rx glasses, and need a spare pair. Not sure if I'll have enough extra for sunglasses right now.

Using the sleeping bag I brought for training for the next week or so. I've got a ton of sheets and stuff at home.

As far as bleach and cleaning supplies... Folks, I got nothing against piss bottles, but you really need to toss it when used. I found more than one when I took over this truck. I was NOT happy.

Tonight I'm at the Pilot in Findlay, OH. Heading almost directly back to where I was in NC last night Fortunately, I'm almost out of hours, so I can kick back and relax tomorrow and Monday. (Scheduled drop at 11pm Monday)

Well how old is your son? Summer is coming soon..and with Crete's rider policy.( good for young kids? right?) ...maybe you could send a little time together and make some money to afford all those Video games kids love so much.

Good luck..

Also, when you gonna start that Tread on the newbie adventures at Crete? There's lots of new drivers looking around here for POSITIVE encouragement and coming from "one of their own"--- as long as it's honest--- you could make a few $$ in referrals. That always goes a long way with buying new "toys" for the truck.

i feel they treat me fine. they treat me better than the management at the walmart supercenter i worked at some years back, and i do like being just a unit number/driver code. it keeps a very minimal chance of becoming too buddy-buddy with my driver manager, fleet manager, and so on. i'd like to hit up the british columbian provinces soon. i was in toronto for a few days in july and was loving it.

I also wear Rx glasses.

I picked up a pair of "clip-on sunglasses" from Wal-Mart for ($12.95 ?)....they've come in mighty handy!
