I still can't figure out what to cover that evertruckerr isn't covering in his week to week thread.
Besides pay and training time, rider policy was the other big factor in who I chose. I've got the paperwork for the ex wife to sign. Whether she signs remains to be seen. Kid will be seven by the time we hit the road. Today I'm backtracking almost exactly the route from the other day. Back to NC. I'm in Centreville, OH at the Pilot. Funny, I stopped here the other day to take a good look at my map before heading to Findlay. Ran out of hours here, which is exactly what I had planned when I took the load.

I'm sitting here in Mc Donough, GA at the Waffle house and will be delivering to the Home Depot DC with my load of ceramic mexican pots from Laredo. When they were offloading the mexican trailer and loading onto mine, seven of the pallets were broken already... I can't wait to get empty and have a bunch of refused pallets of freight to deal with... yay

Your experiences will be completely original and different from his...certainly your MILES might be better/worse. And coming from YOU-- other "newbie" drivers might get a better feeling of what THEY can expect--and achieve. It's not really a competition-- even though many drivers "think" in terms of that-- and are never happy unless they are "top dog", but you should allow anything to "pressure" you to perform... you'll find your own "comfort zone"-- we're just here for support- and encouragement--- bad advice & all.

I remember long ago, a refused load of Hickama? ( mexican potatos) that was refused-- the company wanted me to stop at every farmer's market and try to sell the crap-- of course --they wanted the money! and nothing for my time--- it ended up in a dumpster.

I've been around the internet long enough to know that 'newbie' isn't necessarily a pejorative.
Right now, sitting around to make sure that I don't arrive at consignee too early.
