at least when i get to fresno, my dad can swing by to deliver my freestyle bicycle. oh, the industrial complexes are going to love me since it's that time of the year again that i go riding around looking for some sweet handrails, natural ramps, and staircases to trick off of. 8) there are a couple of skateparks i want to check out when i have the time. one is in north reno, nevada and the other is along i-80 in lovelock, nevada. but, yeah, i gotta tone it down quite a bit. i cannot afford to miss work again. especially when it's my fault i ended up in that situation.

Long story about how today went getting into the freakin' truck will post tomorrow if I remember. First load picks up in the AM. Going to Omaha. you were in Lincoln for Orientation- but they had no truck to give you-there? so you had to ride with another driver to----- Ottawa? to pick up an "abandoned truck"/ no not abandoned- according to Fleet manager- a driver can "turn it in" at any Terminal. Was it Clean? How many miles on it? They seemed short of trucks in Lincoln when I was there. They said a guy had to go to the hospital and left his truck in Rochelle. I got there, and the key they gave me in Lincoln didn't work. Not even the right key blank. Score minus a million for the shop. Breakdown is awful on the weekends. Every time I dialed in, I waited about 15 minutes for a response. After SEVERAL calls, the locksmith finally hit upon some things to get me in the truck with an ignition key. Plenty of belongings left inside, but not a huge amount. They were telling the truth when they said the guy hadn't been on the truck for very long. I found some of his orientation materials. I also found what I assume to be piss bottles. Yay! I looked through the Qualcomm, and could see his messages back and forth to ops about his health concerns. I also found a passenger side tread nearly ripped off. Not sure if previous driver did it, or if someone else did it. Yawn. Screwed up my timing today. Had to hustle all day to get this load to Omaha in the morning while satisfying all my clocks. Tonight I'm at the Sapp Bros. in Council Bluffs, IA. I tried the Pilot, but I couldn't get into a spot due to my still nascent backing skills. Just as well as I had planned on eating at Sapp Bros. anyway. No time for casino visit, as I have a 4:00 scheduled drop.

I'm actually laying over tomorrow night for the first time in a long time. I'll be at the Petro in Milton, PA. Should be there between 6 and 7, but with no laptop. If you're there, look for the white Sterling single screw, or holler for Ack-Ack on the CB.

I hope you reported/photographed the damage before you moved the truck or will get to do a write up- check out on it.. noting it was previously damaged...got to CYA you know. 4am-- breaking you in hard. advice: keep your mirrors clean at all times(really helps when backing) GOAL often. go slow keep one hand on the wheel in same position(to keep track of where your steer tire angle is) use pull thru parking whenever possible(avoid backing as much as possible) but don't try to manuver around multiple trucks to get a pull through.

I feel for you with that midday SoCal drop
Hope you get something good coming out. BTW, if they give you a load of Sunny Delight bottles going to Texas, it's not as hot a load as dispatch claims. Also, have fun with that shipper's dock. It is NOT made for 53 footers. Go ahead and ask them to pull out a trailer for ya to make it easier.Bosselman's in Des Moines, IA. I wanted to make it to Walcott, but I'm too damned tired. Four AM delivery today. I got there at 3:45, nobody there. Fortunately, receiver showed up a few minutes later, before I started to get nasty w/dispatch. But someone grabbed the empty the other day, so I got to wait for an unload. At least I caught up on my sleep. In other newbie news: Scaled today. And adjusted the tandems. Cool thing is that I said "okay, move it five holes" and I moved it EXACTLY five holes. I'm sure it'll never happen again. I hate roundabouts. 'nuff said. I asked dispatch to update some directions warning that if you miss a turn, you get to deal with a roundabout. Deliver in Lancaster on Thursday. I need to talk to dispatch, because if I can move some things around a bit, I might, just might, be able to see my son on my way through Ohio. Finally being 'captain of the ship' has benefits. Don't talk politics at the truck stop; everyone else is dumber than you and just doesn't get it.
