Urggg! Just got off the phone with the attorney's office. I really do not care for attorneys. First off they were going to tell me that they could not have someone there Friday, then they got that squared away.
Now the attorney is saying we don't want a jury trial. First off he said his plan was to
1. Attempt to get the DA to dismiss the charges before the arraignment hearing.
2. Plead not guilty
3. Request a jury trial.
Now that he has been retained the whole story changes. Now he is saying a trail before a bench judge :x And it is not the time to discuss the case with the DA's office :x And my husband will have to end up pleading out sometime :x
Unfortunately I have dealt with attorneys before and I know they can be rather unscrupulous. Unfortunately I do not like what I am now hearing from our attorney. We went with Road Law.
I am hoping that the attorney will change his tune when we have a phone conference on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m central time.

WOW! I did not realize that Texas drivers could even come close to California drivers
Within a couple of hours of the snow begining we had around 30 different accidents.
Five of the crashes resulted in non-life-threatening injuries, 15 in property damage and 11 were slideoffs. Reports continued to come in as the evening progressed.
At least you do not have much snow down in Texas

Supposed to actually see that mysterious white stuff on Wednesday..would be the first for this winter.
You have my thoughts and prayers as you approach the time for court. Hopefully your lawyer will pull his head out from where it doesn't belong and do what he told you he would do. Wishing you the best...

Snow? What is that? Seriously, in Austin we might have a trace amount every three or four years. One year we had a blizzard, we got at least 6 inches, must have stayed on the ground two days. The entire place was shut down.

Oh! I guess I was wrong about snow in Texas! :?
I was hoping that this attorney was straight forward and would not be a pain.
This is the first time I actually spoke to him since he has been retained and he was arguing about the previous actions he told me he was going to take.
Not good at all! He insisted that we immediately get a statement from my husband so he could immediately get in touch with the DA's office. He had said he was going to attempt to get the case dismissed before the arraignment hearing. My husband worked on that statement when he was on the road and we polished it up and sent it out the two hours he was home. Now he informs us he never got in touch with the DA's office at all as this is premature :x
So why the rush for the statement :?: I am not going to allow this attorney to play us this way! He needs to straighten it up or else the bar association will be receiving a complaint.
I like your thread I have read it but have not been posting much lately as I have been very busy! Waiting for a plumber as I type!

Just remember that this attorney is your employee-Not the other way around and if you don't care for the way he's handling it get another one.
