Default Looking for good reefer company

Hi folks.. Anyone know any good reefer companies that get out to the west coast often that have decent pay that have trucks that run at least 70 mph.. I have 5.5 years reefer experience hauling produce and hazmat and 1.5 years as a trainer.. i have worked for KLLM and Southern Refrigerated Transport.I just renewed my license and and dont currently have a hazmat endorsement and would prefer to keep it that way.. KLLM (5 years)is a decent company except dont get hurt on the job or they will treat u more as a suspect than help u.. and Southern Refrigerated (6 months)was a nightmare from day one.. I live in the Birmingham Alabama Area and would prefer an orientation in the southeast unless the company will pay air fare..hehe
I usually like to stay out for 2-3 months at a time with at least a week off for hometime.. i have run as much as 7 months straight without taking time off but i was taking a trip overseas and took almost a month off afterwards..
Thanks for your responses..

Try C.R.England or Central Refrigerated. Both good companies for company drivers and I know they'd love a driver like you who likes to stay out for months at a time.Stevens also maybe a good fit for you.

Go with Shaffer---better money, better freight, load select(sometimes)--

With your experience ----you'd probably (pre-qualify) ask about that---it
means they'd rent you a rental car to Marietta(if they had a truck there)--you'd do the basic hire on there--DOT physical, drug screen, road test-----then you'd work your way into Orentation-----that's the way I did it.

Call Gary Clayton 1(888)811-2913

Mention My Truck#83996 & name Russell-<<<<and we'll see if I ever get anything(doubt it)

Any other question---I'll be around here--until they run me off.

Other than Shaffer in the Reefer Area:

IWX- (require hazmat & got to leave tractor at home- but pay is good)

Dynamic Transit
ACT

Central Refrigerated( Dick Simon) & C.R. England both sux
you'd be much better off at Stevens or Martin ( and even they are not that great)

Try Kennesaw Transportation out of Atlanta, GA or LDA Leasing out Little Rock, AR both are reefer and 70mph+ trucks. Since you stay out so long you may want try your luck over seas in Iraq pulling tanker 1year 100k tax free money in your pocket all expenses paid for so what I have been told.

Shaffer is a good company; my husband drove for them and he loved them. I wouldn't go with CR England either if I were you. Kennesaw might be OK, I heard good things about them but didn't research them too much. Good luck!

I drove for Tyson out of Springdale and you sit more than you drive. Those chicken plants make you wait for couple days and then expect you to drive 500 miles in three hours to make your appt. Unless you have a cousin or relative in the management at Tyson don't expect any good loads.

now don't you expect to sit when pulling a reefer?? delivering to grocery D.C. and Butchering plants are always drop and hooks... just a thought

We drove reefer fow a couple of years; there's a LOT of sitting and waiting....and waiting involved. Dry box is sooo much better! Also, no reefer alarms when it's hot outside either
