That sucks, the hour and a half does go by quickly in Mass. And he said you would need to pay another $75, that does not sound right , I think it is only 25 or 40 to take the test unless the school charges you for use of there truck, which should not be the case. At lest you only have to take the trooper for a ride next time, It is hard to get it here the first time, they say it is the hardest test in the country. But good luck next time.

"TMC" (Matt) or Fred....you guys still hiring Northeast Dedicated drivers? My Dad(over 25 years experience)called Recruiting and they said not right now. Any plans on expanding the operation? He lives in Rhode Island and currently runs for New Century Truckload Division.

My school gets the Troopers to do tests on weekends, so we pay them an overtime rate but we get the tests quick. Appointments in a week or less. Thats why we are paying $75. I don't mind having to go back. Yes I would have liked to get the thing over with but most of it is done now. If I had rushed through it to beat the clock I might not have done as well on the manuvers and pretrip stuff.

In the end, percentage pay still is the best and almost 90% of our drivers run that way. Also, TMC is NOT forced dispatch provided you are empty and available for a load at a reasonable time of day when freight is stil available and multiple loads exist at your current location.

Thanks for the reply Fred, I would greatly appreciate clarification on whether or not hiring is frozen in my area. Maybe even a number to call?
Well, gotta go, but thanks for all your help on the CAD board and website of yours...You give New Yorker truckers a good name and TMC for that matter to.
