The way i figured buzzdog's gripes was that he was a bad fit for the TMC culture. I hope he finds his way to a satisfying job/career. Thank you to Goldies and Mudflap. I KNOW:

You claim to have made $60k, your first year. You have not had a CDL for 1 full year yet. Are you saying that you have made a total of $60k since you started recieving pay from TMC? Was that your YTD for 2006? Do you honestly think that any experienced driver will belive that you have made $60k wiht less then 1 full year in the industry? I have posted what my earnings were while at TMC. Take the time to look at the Best of the Best numbers. You can see that the bottom side of the top 50 were barely making $1000 a week gross. What does that say for the other 3050 drivers? Fred, you are doing a huge diservice to new drivers or potential new drivers in the industry by making the claims that you do. I can tell you from personal experience that there are better choices that these people can make then to choose to drive a peter car. You can to eat a chrome bumper.

I can see where this is going.
I am suffering from "negative vibes", all I need is positive attitude. Fred sounds like your number should be pulled up for a random soon. As far as the "CULTure". Wonder if there will be a terminal at Waco, TX soon. Just glad I was not around for driver appreciation day to get the complimentary kool-aid. ( That was a Jonestown reference for those that are not old enough ).

Fred,
Lets take this one step at a time. How long have had a CDL? How long have you been employed in the industry? How many companies have you worked for to provide first hand comparisions? How has your personal experience in the industry provided you with the knowlege to portray yourself as an expert?

GTR Silver,
1) Haven't been there yet 2) see #1 above 3) see #1 above You, are you working? How many miles/week? Who do you drive for? Buzzdog, What can I say? You are really taking 'culture' to an extreme. Did you say you were a marine? Wow, I've known some marines, I have relatives that were/are marines and they don't whine, they suck it up and move on.

Cadet,
Yes I am a former Marine. I am not "whining". I am trying to shed light on a company that is designed to take advantage of new drivers through their ignorance. If I am coming across as a whiner I make no apolgies for that. I am providing facts that can be verified. So far the arguments against me have all been the usual company mantra of, its what you make of it, blah blah blah. I have yet to find an argument that disproves anything that I have said.

I've had my CDL less than 1 year but having a LICENSE longer does NOT make one a better driver (or smarter for that matter). I've helped MANY more "experienced" drivers secure their loads when they were at a shipper scratching their heads or sweating their a$$es off trying to figure out how to secure a load or back into a dock. I have been in "the industry" legally for the same amount of time. Thankfully I've only worked for ONE company, TMC. I'm lucky I guess in that I found a good "fit" first time out. I DID do 4 months of "research" though BEFORE choosing TMC. My "research" was not of facts and figures as much as it was hitting DOZENS of truck stops and 1/2 dozen actual company terminals of other companies before making my decision. As I've said, I don't CARE what "facts and figures" say. I put more weight on talking face to face with company employees and seeing for MYSELF a company's place of business. I do not portray myself an "expert". I only state that I am VERY happy and actually enjoy going to work every day. I don't assume that EVERY one has to love TMC. Some don't and for some, TMC is just not "for them" and there is NOTHING wrong with that. Everyone should find a company the enjoy working for.
