You guys are funny. Unfortunately I am picking up my next trainee on the 26th so I wont be available by the time ya'll get done. Good luck to you, just remeber your trainer holds the key to your success. Use him gain as much knowledge as possible, no such thing as stupid questions.

I am an advocate for running legal. I say that first so that mabe this wont sound bad. I keep seeing these post about my trainer made me run illegal. Two things right off the bat 1st I promise you that your trainer knows the log rules better than you 2nd You should listen to what he is saying b/c he is teaching you practical trucking not classroom trucking. You have to remain legal in your logs but there are ways to do things to maximize you 14 hour rule as well as your 70 hour. Think of it like this, it takes a newbie about an hour and a half to secure and tarp a coil by himself if not longer, now are you going to log that on line 4? In the classroom yes you will. In the practical world you log 30 minutes loading and go to the sleeper until you start driving. Why you ask, very simple to save your 70 hours. Now if your trainer has you driving 13 hours and logging 11, thats is a problem and you need to let someone know. Otherwise you need to pay attention to what he is doing and ask questions. So many trainees come out of oreintation with all that stuff jumbling around in thier heads thinking they know everything, the sooner you realize that you trainer knows more about trucking than you the better off you will be. Good luck to you all, I will answer any questions and help anyone in any way I can through Email at [email protected]
