Yes, I belive it is still there! I don't think that it is really a truck stop per say.

When I did go down there allot of trucks do fuel up there but I don't think that there is much overnight parking. It is pretty small. The last time I was in there they redid allot of the inside made it pretty nice and added allot of stuff.

Maybe tomorrow I will take that way when I go downtown for something I need to do.

My husband did not drive at all today  He said that he and his trainer both do not like to drive at night so what they have been doing they have been taking turns driving one would drive in the morning then the other one would take over.

He said the trainer always says he wants to get up and get an early start but he never does he sleeps in. So today the trainer asked my husband if he felt like taking over at 4:00 and he said "no". He said he will drive all day tomorrow but he is getting an early start.

I hope he and his trainer will make it another 5 weeks.
He said his trainer is real easy going but he justs likes to sleep in.

Tell you husband if it is possible to drive overnights it is much easier. Less traffic, if you sleep during the day you can just about bank on finding a parking spot versus at night where there is no parking.

I'll second that. I drive at night, but I have to (linehaul). Less traffic, and generally easier to get around. However, your body has to be accustomed to it, because most people just naturally want to sleep at night. It may be something to carefully consider.

So it sounds like this trainer is much better than the one at May as far as teaching your husband the tools of the trade. I highly suggest that he rolls with the punches when it comes to things like adjusting to his trainer's schedule. If he is driving safe hours, not being abused, and learning then he's in good shape. Part of being a trainee is knowing when to sit back, keep personal opinions to yourself and roll with it. Not to the point of abuse, but making a compromise or two will definately lighten up the mood and help the morale a bit. I remember having to make small compromises like time-of-day driving and eating habits with my trainer, and once we did, things went much better. And, to this day we are rather good friends. I urge you to have him relax and don't sweat the small stuff (personality quirks). Everyone has them, and everyone's are different. Good luck to him and I hope that he finds a home at Davis. I loved pulling flatbed, I think he will too.

Your husband is getting paid a flat rate so who cares if the trainer sleeps in. It's better then driving tired and pissed off.

My husband is not use to the night time thing. They drive until a bad time to get a spot at a truck stop and that is part of the problem. Now they are taking turns driving on different days.

The problem is that the trainer always says he is going to get up earlier and get an early start. Then if he drives in the afternoon and has my husband take over late afternoon into night, by that time my husband is tired and then has a problem with finding parking at the end of the day.

Now they are taking turns driving on diffrent days.
