Ok TMC drivers....How heavy are tarps you guys use? One TMC driver I talked to said that the lightest tarps you guys use is 50lbs (I think)!!!! I thought of possibly doing flatbed but I'm only 130lbs and 5'7''. Don't know if I'll be able to tarp some of the loads.

The lumber tarps are 120 lb. I have never been to a shipper where they wouldn't put the lumber tarp on the load for you. Steel tarps are about 80 lb. and fairly easy to toss on a load - as loads that use a steel tarp are much lower in height. The hardest part of tarping a load is the maneuvering on it, at 130 lb you should do well. After a month or so in flatbedding, you will be able to crack walnuts with your bare hands and hoist virgins into the sleeper.

I am officially screwed. I had this booboo on my left shin which got infected, I can barely walk, sucking down various antibiotics, and probably won't be able to work until next week. Not a lucrative payday coming up.

Any TMC long-haul 48 state drivers? If so, some basic advise and info would be appreciated. Just asking b/c that's what I'm getting into.

Thanks.

Many of us line haul guys on here are at least part time long haul drivers or knowledgeable. If you have any specific questions you may elicit more responses.

Generally no. Regional, by definition, is short haul. No need (or money) for team drivers if there aren't "team-miles" to drive. Most (if not all) teams run long haul.
BTW didn't you finish up your CDL training in Februrary? Don't wait too long to start driving or else you'll be required to take a refresher course.

Totally off base here but I want to throw this out here to hear truckers' opinions. I just saw a news story that the Jewish people are considering adding kosher sushi to their "allowed foods" menu. This AMAZES me. it seems that anything a Jewish person really WANTS to eat gets added to the menu after enough requests. Does God actually give a rats a$$ WHAT you eat?
For example, if a practicing Jew and I were locked in a room together FULL of food that wasn't kosher, would I be the only one walking out 10 pounds heavier after a month while they wheeled the Jewish guy out on a table to the morgue?
I think the world would be a better place if EVERYONE ate pork and shut the hell up.
