tootie Just unloaded and I was being rushed. Not really but lots of help. It was in and out in a flash I'm still out of breath. I have 2 loads for this weekend. Feeling a little stressed I think but, this is what I said I was going to try. I ran 600 miles a day here and right into my next loads.

I just spent all afternoon getting loaded up with used rail road ties. I had one load today to deliver tomorrow then back for another load going to Ft Worth but I called and canceled it. They told me the mileage and the I figured the rate and it was OK. Then I asked where I was loading from and he said the same place. He neglected to tell me I had to go back to the same place to load so the rate turned out to be less than .90 cents per mile. Anyways it's a huge pain in the ass to load this stuff. You have to be involved moving ties around to rest the bundles on. I can feel myself ready to die right now. I'm stiff all over. SCREW THAT STUFF. This is my last load doing this crapola. I'm on a lot of the back roads in Oklahoma and Colorado and they are breath taking. DOT is EVERYWHERE!!!! I guess since there are so many trucks carrying farm stuff that can be overloaded. They have trucks pulled over everywhere doing inspections and they look pretty intense. So I'm riding along on this road that you can see for 100 miles doing 65 which is the speed limit. Then this guy gets on the CB and starts saying, come on, come on. I say, are you talking to me. He says, yea you dumb ass, step on it. I tell him I'm doing the speed limit. He says something then I tell him to F off. He says something else so I ask him to pull over. At that very second I see a truck going the other way pull over and the truck in front of him still going then I realize it wasn't the guy in back of me but the other direction!!!! ha ha ha I turn the gain way up on my CB and listen to this guy swearing his head off. So that's about it. I'm in some dirt covered parking lot at Billy Bobs or something. Nobody has any teeth and there's a bar next door. Chances are I won't survive the night here in Jerk Water USA. I'm heading back to that truck stop in Lamar CO after I drop my load off tomorrow and spend Sunday there. Best restaurant and showers I have ever been in. It's privately owned and what a great spot.

That's what I hear. The person loading up after me was way over the limit and running illegal. He said it was the only way to make some money since you are paid by the piece.
I just came back from the hotel next door. Another trucker saw that I had been sitting here since yesterday and asked if I wanted to come over. We went to Walmart and bought steaks and potatoes and cooked on the hotel grill. We'll see what happens in the morning if I get a load out of here. I was going to ask for your fax number Tootie but it doesn't matter now. I broke my scanner when I sat on it so I don't have anything to send you.

I remember running with other drivers, talking on the radio, and stuff. It was fun pulling in the truck stop, and eating after fueling, meeting someone face to face.

There's an old thread about that on here somewhere. I can't really be of much help on this one because I spell it like this...incorpourate....and I'm sure our laws are diifferent. I will say that I prefer the 18% flat tax.
