How do I do that? It looks fine and the air bags are all the way up.

Too high, or too low, it's still a problem.
It should be in your particular truck specs. On my old Volvo, if i remember correctly, it used to be 7.5" between frame and rear axle. On KW, they just measured it with the level, like carpenters.

Steve,

You've been at this almost 5 full months now by my recollection. How much have you spent on maitenance so far? I just totaled mine up again.......$33,500 for 3 trucks and 4 trailers + I still need to add a mechanic's labour in yet so it will be north of $40,000.

No, no, that's the sophisticated way of saying labor. Like with a French accent.

Gman, I've had 3 shops go over my truck with a fine tooth comb and they find nothing at all and they all said to replace the rear shocks. The also said if a flat spot existed or out of balance the tires would show bad wear almost immediately. The fastest I've been so far is 65 and everything is smooth and I should get up to 75 some time today but I think the problem has been fixed.

I'm loaded with 1 small steel beam and 2 small crates and I feel like I'm dead heading with this load. I think it weighs 1,500 total. The air gauge isn't even registering anything.

I only made it maybe 150 miles yesterday. The door to the loading bay that I have to pull into broke and they couldn't get it open until noon. It only took them half an hour to load me up but the tarping took a while.

Heavy heavy traffic from that point on down Rt 95 in Mass then on the Mass Pike. I never saw so many State Police pulling over cars and trucks left and right. I was either passed or one on the side of the road every 7 minutes or so.

I was just at the border of Mass on the Mass pike when the rain started heavy and then came the lightening. I know the next stretch of road is limited with small truck stops so I figured I would try the service plaza and got a spot so I shut down here.

I'm suppose to deliver on Friday and have special instructions to go to a truck stop, call and wait for an escort. I guess it's a power plant that's being built and they have to get stuff out of the way before I head in and it's real tight. If I was a newbie I would have shit a brick when I read that.

As far as maintenance is concerned I spent about $5,000 last year. I just happen to have my tax tally on my laptop that has all my figures. I've already spent more than that this year already though. I would say 90% of what I had done was not mandatory though. I've been putting lots of money back into the truck getting it in perfect shape. I even had the door gaskets replaced so I don't have to listen to the wind noise. It's like a Cadillac in here now!

The antifreeze leak I could have lived with. The door seals, the crossfire air system, extensive PM, shocks and other stuff wasn't mandatory but I would rather spend my left over money now and get everything fixed and ready for the summer.

Not much sleep last night for some reason so it'll be a major nap day today this morning!!

Sitting here in Iowa at exit 125 off Rt 80 heading to Colorado. I've been doing 600 miles a day which is about my limit. The speed limit has been 55 most of the way so it's been tough to do although it's 70 from now on and I have maybe 800 to go so 600 today and 200 early tomorrow morning.

I've been getting at least one call a day about my truck in Lamar Colorado so I shouldn't have a problem getting a load out if I can get unloaded in time on Friday. These brokers keep calling but they don't read the fact that my truck is not available until Friday and then they act surprised.

Got a haircut yesterday and now I'm pretty much a Marine. I think she went a little overboard.

My truck is still vibrating at 67 to 70mph so I pulled over yesterday and slide my 5th wheel all the way back but that didn't do anything. Then I stopped and slide it all the forward and it's much better so I think putting more weight on the steers made it better but not 100%. I'm going to replace the front shocks and see what happens. I just had the rear ones replaced and it was pretty cheap and quick.

I saw a step deck hauling a big container yesterday with Nuclear something on the back. It was a cylinder about 6 feet tall and a radius of maybe 8 feet. I got a kick out of the name of the company..."NUKEM"

It's been raining most of the way with fog and lightening. A nice change though since we don't see rain in NH until the spring. I use RainX on my windshield which is awesome and rarely have to use my windshield wipers.

I bought something special for my truck and finally mounted it. I'll take a picture some time soon and post it.

You can load out of Grants Pass, Oregon with CresDeck heading east for a pretty decent rate.
