must be some kind of experiment on circular intersections
Sounds like Coralville, IA. I am fully convinced that our city planners are cocaine-fried every time they sit down to plan an intersection or road. As a matter of fact, I even do my best to vote them out during elections.

The first one they built a few years ago at a 3-way intersection eliminated the traffic backup, but led to at least 1 accident a day, which re-instated the traffic backup.

As bad as the first one was, the 2nd one they built right in the middle of a major road (just last year) is a hundred times worse. It's half the size of the first one and actually creates traffic backups because it's so small and so tight that cars have to stop anyway to set up to navigate it. And then there's the fact that this road is the entrypoint into a heavy residential area with condos and townhouses that have about a 100% yearly turnover rate due to the college medical students moving in and out. Moving vans tore the hell out of it in the fall. I'm going to set up a lawn chair in May and cheer the trucks on as they completely destroy it.

I think there is a trend in the US towards using traffic circles. Problem is, they are generally too small. Too small to retain any semblance of speed, too small to handle a 53' trailer even close to comfortably (with plenty of extra curbing to screw things up even more).

I ripped a trailer door at a walmart dc in oregon... I quietly backed up, dropped that trailer and ran away to another mt one...

I also at that same place months earlier got stuck under a trailer so I deflated all the bags. So I finally get out and I'm pissed for getting stuck, so I continue to drive around looking for an mt and realize that I blew all the bags off their mounts... Had to call a tow truck.

Oh, and I got lost in my own damn town...

OK hauling a van from a d&h at the Miller brewery, I did my pre-trip and headed north out of So-Cal towards OR, I didn’t scale, I get the red pre-pass signal at the coop and drive across the scale, no problemo, I finally get to the Flying J and weigh, I’m at about 36,000 lbs on my drives  , so I look at my trailer axles, holy crap! They were all the way to the rear!  That scale master must have been in the bathroom because they just missed a nice big score on that one.

Flatbeds, I’m backing into a spot at the terminal and am cutting it quite sharp, at least 90 degrees, I then think “I better pull up a bit and straighten this out” when I hear CLANK, “WTF” I get out and my trailer has flopped forward on the 5th wheel and is leaning way over about to roll on it’s side (edge) thankfully I had good securement and my load didn’t shift and we had a big forklift to pick up the nose of the trailer so I could unhook/rehook.

Very first trip as a 1st seat. I am leaving the yard. Pull out on the truck stops dead in it's tracks. Another driver is trying to get in. I said, the brakes locked up. I get out. Sh!t I forget to crank up the landing gear. That one never happened again.
