GMAN your a owner operator right? If you don't want your trucks smelling like smoke hire drivers that don't smoke. As for the rest of you if you don't want to drive a truck that smell like smoke don't work for a company that allows smoking.

By the way I don't smoke.

I think some other posters hit the nail on the head.........we've become a society of whiners, with very little backbone who want instant gratification like we can drive thru McDonald's and get it.............God forbid we should ever have to be tested like our parents and grandparents were. Dust bowl, a real economic depression, a world war..........oh wait.......I just got assigned a truck whose former driver was a chain smoker. It stinks........ oh no I'm gonna get cancer, I'm gonna get sick, I'm gonna get a skin rash.............wawawawa.........I wanna a new truck, I wanna a new truck.....I wanna make $80,000 a year, I wanna raise, I wanna be first at the DC, I wanna a drop n hook, I wanna long haul, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna..........it's enough to make you wanna just bitch slap the first person you come to who's whining..............

So you got a truck who's form tenant used to be a chain smoker..........big friggin deal........get you a shop vac with a hepa filter and vacuum every surface in the cab......hard and soft from top to bottom. Get you a solution of vinegar and water and scrub every hard surface.......windows, cabinets, dash, ceiling, mattress platform, everything. Toss the old mattress (do you really want to sleep on someone else sloughed off dead body cells.........talk about gross). If you really get energetic, rent you a steam cleaner and steam all the cloth surfaces...............the last step is an option, it's up to you, I get a medium size can of Ozzeum and spray it directly on the fabrics and in the air................

Hell, I smoke and I don't care if the last driver was a smoker or not..............I'm cleaning the cab anyway and when I get out of it..... it'll be cleaned again............it's my home, until I hand the keys to somebody else.

Give me a break............to many whiners, to many spineless, spoiled, untested folks raised on McDonald's drive thru and X-Box victories............you want fries with that.........

You are right, NascarFan. I won't put a driver in a truck that I will drive myself, if I know he smokes. While I don't want to be around it or smell it myself, my wife has respiratory problems and has a very difficult time breathing around cigarette smoke or residue. I have had to take her to the hospital twice because of being around cigarette smoke. She is very allergic. With her, it isn't a matter of disliking the smell, it could be life threatening. There are others like my wife.

Yes I know some people have respiratory problems but that shouldn't infringe on peoples smoking rights.

NascarFan, I don't want to get in another knock down fight, but are you for real. You are saying that your addiction comes before someones health? You would really kill some one because you have to smoke?

No not saying that but these states that are outlawing smoking everywhere is ridiculous.
