Yeah, that sums up the general smoker attitude pretty well...
Smoking is a choice isn't it? Or is it?
Well.... it USED to be a choice, until someone started restricting my right to choice! I guess YOU have a right to choose to stay away from it, too.

Maybe I didn't explain my self well enough. These states that are outlawing smoking everywhere is ridiculous.
Why is it ridiculous? Is it ridiculous to think of others health? I mean by all means smoke all you want it is your right, but why subject others who don't smoke be around it? Isn't it their right to breath non smoke filled air? btw my son is one of those people who are highly deathly allergic to smoke.
Yep... just like people have the right NOT to live in Pittsburgh, Tacoma, or many other cities with polluted air from big businesses who won't conform to government LAWS against pollution!
T/Bish: I don't mean to sound insensitive to your sons condition, really. But, I can't help wondering why NO ONE complained about such conditions a mere 20 or 30 years ago? What? No one HAD smoke allergies back then? When people were smoking at a higher rate than today? Hmm.... maybe, something ELSE has caused his condition. Could it be the plasticizers in all those microwave dinners? Or the increased preservatives in all the junk food we eat today? Or just general pollution? I REALLY don't know. But.... I remember a time when smoke filled MOST public buildings, and NOBODY complained about it!
I'm really sorry about your son's condition, REALLY! But, if you'll just have him wear a scarlett "A" on his sweater (for Allergic,) I'll be glad to keep my smoke away from him. Even if I'm outdoors on a windy day, or in my OWN truck or home. And I promise not to even MISS the fact that I used to be free to smoke a cigarette in a BAR (where only adults are allowed) while having a beer!
And in return, when we're accidentaly occupying the same closed in space like a restaurant, (where I can't smoke anymore,) or a bus, or an elevator, or whatever.... you'll be sure that he doesn't SCREAM when he doesn't get his way, or for whatever reason, because that causes damage to my hearing. BTW... I have very sensitive ears! And by NO means, will you allow him to continue to nag and nag over the same old request... while you IGNORE him... and I have to put up with it. Daddy?? Daddy??? Daddy??? Just ANSWER the friggin kid, will ya????
I'm sorry, but I'm tired of being told how "I" don't respect others' rights (although I usually DO when it comes to smoking) by parents who think their kid's Sh#t don't stink and who've become so oblivious to their constant rambling and screaming and don't even KNOW the meaning of discipline!
