Not sure you can "bag" a Shania with that little pop-gun of yours, Hog!

Gman.... I wouldn't want you to be accused of the same kind of "hysteria" you accuse the libs of, so.... let's talk about those 440+ in Chicago:

...Yet the truth is more than 440 school-age children have been shot in Chicago in 2012. This is not to say that 440 school-age children died, simply that more than 440 school-age children were at least wounded. The number of school-age children killed is reported at approximately 60.

440+ School Age Children Shot in Gun-Controlled Chicago « Common American Journal
So.... that's just about 3 times the connecticut numbers spread over 364 MORE days. Now.... anyone want to look up and compare the population and poverty level figures for Chicago and Newtown?

Any idea how many of those 60 in Chicago were accidental? (or even self-inflicted?) I don't think you can compare the two "facts." The Sandy Hook (like the Columbine and VATech) shootings gained national attention for a very good reason.

There is no hysteria on my part. However, it does cause me great concern that those areas, such as Chicago, have a much higher total assault rate, yet are never mentioned in the media. I wonder how may of those deaths or assaults could have been prevented if someone had the ability to legally own a gun? According to statistics in other areas where gun laws have been restrictive and then liberalized, assaults and murders went down. That is a convenient fact that the extreme left prefer to over look.

Poverty has been with us since the beginning of time. When I grew up, we had poor people. During the Great Depression, everyone was poor, for the most part. But, we didn't have the mass murders as we have seen in recent years. Millions of Jews, Christians and others were murdered by the Nazi's because they had no way to defend themselves. I don't think that you had over 400 people who committed suicide or shot themselves in Chicago during this year. Poverty is an excuse that the left used to justify criminal behavior.

Sounds nice but....
I used to deduct all my ammo and a new handgun every 2-3 years as a required non-rembursed work related expense. IRS never questioned it. I miss those days!
Nope never read the militia clause. But NYS already knows how many handguns and model/caliber ect.
I NEVER said or wanted total de-reg for firearms NEVER! Just like cars and kids, there are some people out there that just plain and simple shouldn't be allowed to them!

Do you have a scope on that mini or iron sights? I just put a new after market front sight on mine and thinking about putting a micro-click rear like on a M-1 carbine.

Paul - something I ducked earlier because I wanted to chew on it a bit...

You said I should thank you for being a "gun guy" <-- sorry, shorthand makes sense here.

Well I've thought about it and I think not. 100 years ago or 50 years ago or even 20 years ago, yeah you guys were providing a valuable service. But in this day and age all you're doing is decreasing the safety level and increasing the danger level. At this point in time you're not solving problems, it's more the opposite situation.

It's because your guns don't have leverage anymore. You don't have the ability to assemble anymore! Your phone conversations are recorded and they have speech to text capability. Your email is scanned. Your internet activity is recorded. All you have is you standing at your front door looking like someone with a deathwish if push ever came to shove. Frankly we've crossed the point of no return. Either we make this country work or we're done. There will be not be a militia rising up to save the day for us.

With all the damage you gun folks do to the country I'm thinking I'm not going to thank you today, maybe some other time, but not today.

I just read that Chicago has now surpassed 500 murders of children this year. That is almost 10 children murdered in a city that doesn't allow citizens to own guns. I wonder how many lives could have been saved if people living in the city were allowed to own guns so that they could defend themselves.
