But alas, I am mainly jerking your chains. I COULD BE a trainer. But that probably won't happen. i do value my life more than the 2 cents a mile extra I would get as a trainer.
Kinda what I figured--An Attention seeking Boy Your credibility on this forum is Zero

Well, at first i had entertained the idea.
So to you that call me a jackass, I don't care. Really. I read some of the posts on here and it tells me that some people have their head wedged so far up their ass they can't see through the shit. I DID ponder it. I did call training at TransAm. Ultimately I decided against it because of the safety factor and the fact that TransAm may just want a cheap team. But I don't like being told I can't do something just because YOU SAY SO. There is no way you can convince me that some veteran trainers that use and abuse trainees would do a better job than me. To those of you that have experience and don't train, but come on here and degrade people because they WANT TO QUIT, have an accident, or any other silly thing SHAME ON YOU! You have the ability to change an industry one trainee at a time. And YOOPR my credability on this forum was always zero.

All newbie drivers need a trainer to begin their career. Its the quality of training that is the issue. If all training companies programs, insured the truck was only run "solo" and paid the trainer a reasonable rate, you would have better quality trainers, which would in turn produce better qualified drivers. To say that I or any other driver has the "ability to change the industry one trainee at a time", and "Shame" on us for not doing it, is a unjust statement. I have the experience as a Truck Driver and I have the Credentials as a Teacher, but I do not train, even if the training program ran the truck as "solo" I would not do it. I am a solo driver (meaning alone in the truck), I do not want "strangers" with me. I did not get into the industry to become a Driver Trainer. I got into the industry because I like to truck. Experiences/Training can be passed on in many different ways, I dont have to be a "formal" trainer to do it. (My 2 cents)

As I told one other person last night, The Lord WILL answer your prayers, but the answer is not always going to be what you want it to be. You really need to start focusing upon that. Perhaps I was luckier than most, but I have been blessed with people who were often older than me, sometimes younger than me, but they knew more than I did in certain areas. I had a few college professors who were very gifted teachers, but the minute I started to think that I had it all down, they'd very quickly give me a swift, academic kick in the ass. I once thought that I was a little smarter than I really am, but what I learned, all too many times the hard way, was that I was far better off having people who were smarter than me, more intelligent than me, better educated than I am, and more experienced than I am telling me when, where, and WHY I was wrong, as opposed to me being all so certain that I was right. There are a number of drivers right here at CAD ( and The Yooper Man is one of them!!) who have backed trucks up more miles than you or me have ever driven them forward. ( that's you and me combined!!) Some were nicer than others, but even those who were less than polite may well have saved your wife from getting that dreaded phone call, or having a police officer accompanied by a minister knocking on your door. They may well have also saved your children from having to greet the next holiday, or the next Birthday, or the next Christmas with "Daddy in Heaven". You may not like any of this, but if it has saved your wife and your children from that type of pain, then they have done you and your family a tremendous favor. You don't have to be right all of the time, and your are never going to get anywhere in life until and unless you learn to cool your jets, and look at your problems, consider your alternatives, CREATE new alternatives, and accept the idea that people who have far morre experience than you in driving also know more than you do. I went from being a CEO, having people far better educated than I am working FOR me, and making very critical decisions regularly, and suddenly found myself attending a Wholesale Freight Relocation University, then sitting behind the wheel of a FreightShaker Classic XL, with a grumpy old coot who I thought had Turret's Syndrome. My trainer ("Grumpy" was his handle!!) had a high school diploma, over thirty years, and over three million safe miles inder his belt. I do know what it is to have to adjust. BTW, he was also the prize driver for the company that I drove for. As a trainer, I think that he got about 10 hrs. sleep over the first three days on the road. The rest of the time, he was either behind the wheel, or in the jump seat. Chill out, Spencerain!! These people are trying to help you!! Peace, Useless

No your credibility hasn't always been zero on here but people don't take kindly to their "Chains being Yanked"
I was going to post on your thread earlier that most people when they first start driving and getting their experience don't normally fall into the perfect job and they have to pay their Dues. Just stick with what you're doing and tough it out and after a while the job of your choice will be yours.

I wonder how many other industries consider someone with 6 months of experience wise enough to be a seasoned employee let alone a trainer!
