I applied at TransAm to be a trainer. They told me yesterday I was approved. So I go to training class on the 13th!
I may not know all there is (actually I KNOW I don't). But I want to level the field a little. I won't use my trainee to get miles, and I won't allow them to speed. That being said, I will train them to do what is LEGAL and SAFE to the best of my ability.

I too, wish to be a trainer. I have decided that I would wait until I have at least one year of experience at a minimum. It may be much longer than that. I have mixed feelings about the minimum time required to be a trainer. Even if you only have six months experience, that is six months more than your trainee. He can still learn a tremendous amount from you. I don't have strong feelings about the minimum time requirement.

Ah, 6 months of experience.
There is no seduction either. I don'y run their illegal way. So why would I team drive with a new guy? That's the thing. If I can't make it safely and legally why do it? I'm sorry, but I don't think it's SAFE to let a new driver drive while I sleep. If TransAm can't give me solo runs with a new driver then I'll resign. It's as simple as that.
