I may be off alittle on that but i'm sure I'm close
Jewels may know the exact amounts

The "ouch" was from the OP's comment: ...someone who works for them"! ops: Present tense...
The payscale you gave sounds about right, but mine was a bit different because of the pay cap on the dedicated fleet.
As a national driver, at 6 months after you complete your 8-week stint with your trainer, you get raised to .41 per mile. I didn't because, as I said, I was driving for a dedicated fleet.
Good luck with it, though. Freight is a bit slow, right now, but it seemed to be picking up. Crete's pretty good at not messing with your pay, too.
Jewels
P.S., It IS cool that they rent you a car to get to orientation, but you have to purchase your fuel...at least until you get there----when they reimburse you for it!!! Yeah, baby! Also, they put you up in a decent hotel, feed you real food for lunches, and you get to meet some pretty cool people while there. I had a blast! And I hope that, if you choose to sign on with them, you do too!
P.P.S., Repete, you've got mail!

I'm thinking of hitchin on.

Is Crete's layover pay at, or above industry standards?

now you know-- Crete doesn't pay layover..

Many thanks Headborg!

Theoretically, does that mean that I could possibly sit for a weekend or longer at, say the Carney Point Flying J for no pay at all? Are you sure about that?

Most assured.... there are many places where you could set for entire weekends.... without any pay..... but on the bright side--- they won't usually bother you about " Is your truck idling?"

But enough with the negative...... Crete is an outstanding place/choice for a newbie--- they treat drivers at least 70% better than their nearest alternative.... the pay per mile raise is very attractive, their equipment is about in the middle spec wise. Yes, you could do much worse.....much...much...worse. Good luck.

Do you guys know if they accept cdl schooling from north american trade school or all state career in baltimore??

Im looking at my schooling options, and crete is on my list of companies. Just want to make the right choice for a school that will give the best opportunities out of school.

In my experience, sitting at a truck stop waiting for a load assignment is called "doing a 34 hour reset," whether you actually need one or not. Different company, but I don't think that matters.

My understanding is they offer a driver trainer for less experienced drivers, and they have a pretty good reputation among their drivers....never really know what you are going to get with OTR companies, but they do have a decent reputation that says alot. Good Luck
