Yup, cleared everything out from under the bunk on the passenger side and center and came back to this:
Not as bad as I thought it would be, but it was a challenge to find a place for all of my displaced stuff.
I also had to pull everything out of the passenger side closest area, floor to ceiling so they could run the duct work for the vents.
Having a heavy duty inverter is wonderful and not having to worry about idling is a god send, but it is one noisy little sucker. I've parked next to APU trucks on many occasions and have noticed that the Thermo King units are very quite, but I got a Carrier unit that sound like a lawn mower running all night. That's when you are parked next to them.
I was surprised that from the inside you can't even hear the exhaust, which I though would be unbearable. The reason I can't hear the exhaust is because the vibration from the silly little thing pretty much drowns it out, and when the AC compressor kicks in, forget about it!
I used to pull a refer so I was able to adjust rather quickly however.
I love having some of the comforts of home again. Like a Microwave from WalMart ($35), a toaster and a small hot plate among a few other things. Makes it much easier to save a few bucks on the food bill.
Another big plus, I don't have to deal with the TV shutting down every time the truck starts up, the APU keeps the batteries fully charged.
The one thing I would find to be a great improvement would be if the inverter was connected directly to the batteries so that the APU would recharge the batteries as needed. As it is now, you can only use the inverter while the APU is running. Once it shuts off the power to the outlet is disconnected, so I still have to use my cigarette outlet type inverter for the computer and TV.
All in all, I'm thrilled to have it:
