i agree,the issue seems to be the cheap way out. if they ever start screwing with our idle times when sleeping or waiting for next load, i'll be at a local gas hauler the next day. i have never grossed any where close to max so far, like most trucking companies just a pay check.

Now thats funny , if you can get a local job hauling gas , then why are you still driving OTR . how much experience do you have pulling tankers? most fuel haulers want several years.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy working here to a degree and feel that I'm still making good $$$, even when most of my work as of late has been local stuff, but I'm also not going to lie..... I'm leaving!!!

This is due primarily to personal issues I have with the company and with operations, and then there's also the level of company politics that are going around, many of which I believe stem from the area/terminal I'm operating from. They simply have exceeded my tolerance level. I've been afforded an opportunity I cannot pass up, and that's where I'm going. It simply will give me more freedom as a driver with much less "company politics" b.s. concerning nitpicking, nickle-and-dime rules and regs (especially those that have absolutely no impact on doing my job safely and efficiently), and allow me to still make the income I need along with the time off I require. 'Nuff said!

Superior Carriers (January 1, 2009 to June 28, 2009)
Gross Pay: $26,118.97
Hub miles: 51,498 (Avg.: .507/mile)
Days Working: 122 (68%)
Days Off: 57 (32%)

The truth is this is a dedicated trailer and the placards have been on it for years. They never come off as the tank is top loaded and never cleaned. Would you have scraped it off and demanded a new one for 1/8 inch off of vertical. This customer ships several loads a week and its 2500 miles round trip.

Honestly I was more concerned withtwo bald flat spots on the trailer tires that I had replaced before pulling it. They were bad and more than a couple of drivers pulled that trailer with those tires.
Exactly where in the Regs does it say the thing has to be perfectly vertical. Seems like a chicken shat ticket that is worth appearing on - if you have the time.

catdick i am glad you don't care what i think, i just ask a simple ? i haul fuel and the good companies want drivers with atleast 5 years exp. or more. i am sure there are others on here that will back me up on that . from what you have said on here , you don't seem to have alot of tanker experience. so go back to being a BBR in your old little blue truck . , oh wait my truck is a 03 model too, a 379 ex. hood pete, with a 475 cat. 10sp that can do the speed limit and then some . it's a day cab too .

I didn't get a ticket so there is nothing for me to fight. I forwarded those pictures to my Terminal Manager in case Superior wants to contest the write up for the Safe Stat score. No way those placards make the truck less safe.

i'm sorry, sometimes my old age and being tired of anything to do with log books and regulations, might give you the wrong idea. it took me awhile and many braincells, but what i trying to say was i did'nt want to go through hassle of being carded in 5 or 6 different loading racks. or say you sit in line with 8 other trucks to find out you can load your regular,but the premium is out, so you get to go to another supplier to get the premium. or you get to a loading rack and the ulsd alotment is used up. so don't get disturbed at the drop of the hat. think outside the box.

Sorry to hear this though the hints over the past few weeks haven't been real subtle It is truely Superiors loss. Any idea how many drivers you have recruited to the company over the years? I certainly hope you will start a new thread for your new company. Me personally I am happy and unless major changes happen at the terminal management level will continue to be so. Thanks for steering me towards Superior and Tankers in general a couple of years ago when I got started Trucking.
