He's not really on his too much either, as he's not real fond of the trash, but that route he seems to have it on a fair bit, as the phone signal isn't so good through there it seems :? (either that or he'd rather talk on the CB than to me through there  ). If you see a turquoise TransAm truck sometime you might try, just never know. TransAm has some big name business in Amarillo and Lubbock both so I don't see him being over there stopping anytime soon....

Yeah, there are 1 or 2 dead spots out there. There is a section of what we call, no man's land. The phones are better, but there are a couple of areas that are dead.

Thanks! It's quite a journey sometimes, but you do what you have to do to make ends meet and life happen! I do my best to support him in all he does, including trucking. Its nice to know it shows sometimes

Tonight finds my husband in Liberal, KS. After he dropped in FL, he went up into Georgia and picked up a load of..mulch of all things. He delivered it in Wichita, KS earlier today, then drove into Liberal where he is supposed to pick up his next load which will head him back into North Carolina.
This shipper is notorious for not having loads ready on time, much less early, and this load isn't due to ship until the 16th, so he's hoping to get a 34 hour restart out of it , and start with clean hours, as he's run himself out until Friday morning at midnight anyhow. He's looking forward to the drive through North Carolina on I-40 again, as he enjoys the mountain driving.

Glad to know that he still likes it, and he is having fun. I hope that you are enduring it ok. I guess you keep yourself busy while he is out. Anyway, it's good to know that everything is going good.

The children and I are doing better than I ever expected. Its not that we don't miss him, but the phone conversations help a lot. We do keep busy, both I and the children. Between my business things, homeschooling, and just carving time for each of them, and setting up several fish tanks, life doesn't slow down unless I make it, but that seems to help the time go by.
My husband is in the middle of Arkansas tonight, Little Rock I believe. He got his 34 hour reset, and will get layover pay for it, can't beat that. He left Liberal, KS this morning and is due in NC on the 18th.

I just read this whole thread from beginning to end. Great read, keep the updates coming.
You've actually gotten me to consider starting with Trans Am after I get my cdl this summer...I am looking to do 1-2 years then go local. I live in Lenexa, KS which neighbors Olathe. Might be interesting to work for a company based locally, I might also apply for a parts associate position that TA is hiring for right now in over in Olathe.
Thanks again for the great read and BOL :!:

I too just read this thread from the very beginning, and it is nice to hear that things are going well for you and your family. My wife and I are in a similar situation right now.
We live with her parents because as our W-2's show, together we only made 37k last year. I know that sounds like a lot for your family but where I live that is poverty. So I am looking to go back into trucking in order to make more money so we can buy a house and start a family.
BOL to you and your family and I hope your husband stays safe.
