Thanks again for all the support and I'm glad to see people are enjoying reading this thread and are gaining info from it.
My husband is in IL tonight, fixing to head across WI (I think, those upper states confuse me) into MN to drop tomorrow by 4. This is the load he picked up in North Carolina after he dropped there. He is due home the 30th and needs to have his truck serviced in Rockwall before he comes home, but he should be able to get 1 or 2 more good runs in first. All is still well, I asked him specifically if he had gotten bothered about his choice of wake/sleep/roll schedule and he said after he talked to his dispatch last time he hasn't heard anything from night dispatch unless he asks them something

This shipper is notorious for not having loads ready on time, much less early, and this load isn't due to ship until the 16th, so he's hoping to get a 34 hour restart out of it , and start with clean hours, as he's run himself out until Friday morning at midnight anyhow. He's looking forward to the drive through North Carolina on I-40 again, as he enjoys the mountain driving. BTW - I really enjoy your posts. Definitely good reading. Glad to see a family doing what it takes for the kids and for themselves. Wish my ex would've been so supportive. (both while I was in Iraq and on the road) BOL to you and your family!

I worked for an O/O that was leased to them, once upon a time. They were notorious for loads not being ready on time. I did make quite a bit of "extra" money with them, although I WAS younger, and in better shape for unloading. Back when you didn't need a ss# or a fed. id. # for lumpers, only a signature. Amazing, how many times they accepted Mickey Mouse.

Of course, according to my husband if the effeciency of the yard jocks and the desk people mean anything not a whole lot has really changed. I think that rivals very closely for his least favorite place to be.
