Hey Madi,
Great to see everything is going so smoothly for you guys! Does your husband do runs by your house? It sure does make it nice. Last time my husband was in it was just for a day but even a day is nice! You sound like things are going great for you and the children also! No more chicken pox or heat problems! Good Deal! So glad to see that things are still going well for you guys.
I am out on the road with hubby now, but remember the days when I could not. It was hard, but hubby loves driving a truck and who am I to say no you can't so that. He has never told me that I could not do anything I wanted to do. I love being out here with him now, and understand why he loves it. It is so nice for you to share all this with us, thanks! Kim

Yeah, there aint no tellin where he was going. We have several stops off of Kemp.
Yeah, finding good local jobs here is hard to find. Unless, it's LTL, but it's hard to get them. If I hear of anything that's worth anything, I'll let ya know.

Madii's wife, I have a few Q's.
Does your husbands truck come with an inverter? I have asked my recruiter and she is less than knowledgeable about what the trucks are equipped with. Is there an APU? Do they have Opti-Idle? How much "out of route" can he drive? Thanks

Some of the trucks have APU's. My understanding is that all of their newer trucks do. However the Lease Operators get the newer trucks as a general rule. My husband's trainer had an APU, but he does not. Most of the company drivers are driving 03-04 Freights. To be honest, I'm not sure what Opti-Idle is...so probably not.
How much "out of route" can he drive?
Thanks

Sorry it has been so long again, we've been very busy.
My husband is finishing up another round of hometime, leaves out tomorrow morning. Not for sure where he's going yet, but more than likely Amarillo or Lubbock, thats usually where he picks up. When he came in from Miami, FL he brought a load of cotton candy to Ardmore, OK. The miles have stayed strong, and they continue to stretch his hours. He's starting to really figure out how to manage them better to not run out so frequently, but still be able to run hard. After he leaves tomorrow he will be gone for right at 4 1/2 weeks. We have a camp meeting that we wanted to attend last year but were unable to, and are planning on going this year. It's the first weekend in May, but its 4 days long itself, so he had to make a special request to take 6 days off. It will be nice to see him, but this will also be the longest he's been out, so we're hoping he comes close enough to at least see him somewhere in the middle. |
