I decided not to go with it because I want more experience driving before I jump to being O/O or L/O. Myself I would like to a year or two back in the industry before I will think about become an O/O.

Another thing I don't believe it is in my best interest to lease equipment from the same company that control my load assignments. Reason is what if the company intentional or unintentional can't find freight for my truck, I could be starved out of the truck with no recourse but to turn in the truck to the company. If I own the equipment I could look to lease on with another company.

If you want to know more about the lease program then call Davis. Their financial manager will go over the program and even work a budget with you. I also think that all lease operators with Davis will get without additional cost access to a tax account as that is what they are offering company drivers who are switching.

I may come back someday, but I will own my equipment if I do.

It's going to depend on which year of truck and what engine it has (CAT come with a 5 year 500k warranty and the Cummings is a 3 year 300k). I do know they say it's a true "walk away" lease.

Your best best would be to contact Davis directly.

My husband dropped in Casper Wyoming and will pick up a load tomorrow that is going to head to Lewiston Idaho. He will drop his load on Monday and then head in home so we can clean out his truck.

Tuesday he will head up to the border to find out if he is eligible to get into Canada.

Depending on how things work out my stepdad may follow him to Missoula during the week or I will on Saturday. I know someone is waiting on his truck so we will have to see how it all works out. I am very glad that he will get to leave all of his stuff home instead of us having to bring it all home from Missoula.

I do not know if there is an interest in a new thread or not. If there is let me know as Goin Fer It's Adventures at Davis Transport will be ending soon as will this thread.

Last weekend my husband came home before he made his drop in Lewiston that way we were able to get his things out of his truck before he made his final drop for Davis Transport.

Monday morning he made his final drop then drove to Missoula. Tuesday morning he was going to clean out his truck when they told him it was due in the shop. He cleaned it but not the way he had planned.

Then my stepdad picked up my husband in Missoula as I had been at work.

My husband did take a batch of the heart shaped M&M chocolate chip cookies to the office.

Wednesday my husband went to the Canadian border and he is not allowed into Canada. So he will go with the heavy haul division of Systems Transport.

My husband is due to begin orientation this Wednesday, if all goes well he will get the keys to his truck Friday night after orientation.

I have tons of wrapping to do this evening  I only really began my shopping this weekend so I was quite busy!

May all of you have a blessed and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

dewercs2, Devildice

So if I start a new thread I can have at least you two reading it I hope you will post on it also as posting all the time without any feed back gets lonely.

Merry Christmas to both of you and your families!
