Prior to all these rumors of them going 100% O/O, I had already decided to buy my own truck and trailer and lease it to them. I was going to anounce my new adventure until after the new year but decided to go ahead and mention it (on my thread) now in light of the latest events at Davis.

There is a lot to me deciding to make the leap but I won't tie up GFIW's thread with all those details.

honestly...you will make more....but your expenses will out way that...the irs will only hold you for about 20k personally a year in taxes.....as long as you go llc and actually work on the truck....i have made more than ever before in my life, but i get to claim poverty on my taxes...sweet..pm me if you need better details

:shock: I do not know yet! I guess begin filling out applications and see if Will from Sage has any good job leads. And hope and pray my husband gets something that will begin around the first week of January.

Tonight before I went with my son to youth group and took my daughter to AWANAs was the first time I had even heard this was going to happen.

Right after I read this I had to leave but I gave my husband a call. He was on the phone with DD and I was talking to Mrs. Dewers at the same time.

Dewers also heard all of this today from his truck boss so it is official. :cry: :cry: And DD had it confirmed by another source.

That may have been why they did not really have an answer for him after his accident regarding going back right away. They gave him the break down of the cost of leasing a truck :shock: to rich for our blood!

We just do not want to have a slow down and be on the hook for a truck payment it could destroy us financially. We are not in a stable position yet with our finances. We still need every check we get to meet living expenses.

I guess you will not be calling Davis after all!

GWIF.....call me.....dd has my #....i know it seems like alot but your gross a week will substantly increase also, but your risk will also

i normally gross just over 2k week after fuel( when im runnin like i should), plates, insureance...then i take drivers pay...the rest i try to leave in my account( believe me it doesnt always work.....i think ive loaned my brother 10k in six months)

but i wont give you b.s numbers either, it would probaly be better in the long run to just buy your own then lease to davis, but davis does have one of the best leases i have seen .

GFIW, there really isn't any reason for you to panic. There are several decent companies that GFI can apply to. Right there in Spokane are, Mercer Trucking; http://www.mercertrucking.com/ and System Transport; http://www.systemtrans.com/. Further south you have in Boise ID, TransContinental Transport; http://www.tctboise.com/index.html, and in Jerome ID there is Arlo G. Lott, http://agltrucking.com/, and over in Idaho Falls ID there is Doug Andrus, http://www.dougandrus.com/.

In Missoula there is Jones Brother's Trucking, http://www.jonesbrotherstrucking.com/index.aspx

If I were living up there again and looking for work, I would have my list of preferences that would look like this.

1; Mercer Trucking.
2; Arlo G. Lott.
3; Doug Andrus Distributing
4; System Transport
5; TransContinental Transport.

I do not know enough about Jones Bros. to rate them on my list.

I am sure that Davis will assist your hubby in hiring on with any one of those six companies.

I would also recommend Arlo G Lott and System. System would be the most similar to Davis. Lots of long haul flatbed routes with System. I'm mostly sure that AGL has a heavy haul division which might be cool for you guys. OR, WA, ID and MT only for heavy haul.
