Wow hubby hates to put up the s-kit. He says it is very time consuming and a pain! What a good outlook you have on it.

My son was not on a tour bus they rented two different cars. They could not rent a small bus one way. Terrorist and homeland security reasons! Like one of the adults stated it is lame because a terrorist would just say fine I will bring it back and then use it for whatever....like the terrorist would care  So they rented two cars that fit all of them in, one of the parents has done the tour before so they did not need a tour guide, this parent/escort knew it well.

Have you been back East with the turnpike yet? Did you go back there with your trainer at Davis?

Hubby is moving along! It only took him 4 hours at Alcoa yesterday! He said this time it was much smoother than before because he knew what to expect as far as getting his side kit ready for the load.

Of course it had to RAIN when he was putting up his side kit and it was very humid after the rain. Every time he puts up his side kit he has adverse weather conditions! Just seems to never fail!

Hubby and DD missed each other up there by one day!

It was EXTREMELY humid there today, I was drenched from head to toe literally. Yeah GFI and I missed each other by one day but had a good chat on the phone. He really isn't or at least wasn't at the time we talked that far ahead of me.

My husband has ping ponged! After he dropped his load in in Houston he went and picked up a load going to St. Louis, Missouri now he is back in Dallas.

Last week was low for miles and this next week will more than likely also be a low miles week also. He has a load but will not be able to pick it up until Monday. If he got the load earlier it would have been a nice miles week as he would have put in at least 600-650 a day over the weekend.

They were looking for a different load for him to get him home and is why he did not get the load assignment until late Friday.

Well I guess that is the way things go in this business you take the good with the bad miles and days

I have been busy with soccer, karate, Awanas, Homework and many other back to school things  I have to get back in the routine! I can't wait until my son feels comfortable enough to drive on his own!

   Usually it was the other way around! Getting into the East was easy and getting out of the west was hard.

Where did you see the article? I am hopping that Davis will run as good as they did last winter. I know last winter allot of people were slow but my husband was running pretty good with Davis!

Take Care,

Boy am I glad you meant the northwest I already knew about that! My husband will be on his way to New Jersey after pick up on Monday!

It will be interesting and I hope Davis will keep my husband moving this winter the way they did last year! I hope they keep you moving also.

What does this section of the article mean?

The downturn hasn’t hit every trucking segment equally, Costello noted. Because of its reliance on housing, flatbed has been hit hardest. Truckload shipments are up this year, but less-than-truckload shipments are down. And within the truckload segment, loads are up for large carriers but down significantly for small carriers. Costello attributes this trend to a concerted effort by large truckload carriers to get out of very long-haul freight, leaving those loads to smaller carriers.

What is a less-than-truckload shipment? And if the large carriers get out of long-haul freight wouldn't that be good for the smaller carriers?
