How long were you in trucking? It sounds as if your wife needs you home every night at this juncture in your life!

I started my career in 1985, drove for 4 years for a welding suply company hualing liquid oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, also gas cylinders. great job until Dec. 31, 1989, while making a left turn in Tucson the trailer springs snapped and I rolled a 4000 gallon liq. o2 trailer. was not hurt bad but scared the crap out of me. Went from driving semis to towing them and cars in San Diego for a couple of years and in 1992 went back to Phx and started a career with Mclane Grocery Div. Basically became a professional grocery lumper/trucker. I spent 10 years with them transferring to NC with them. They are by far the greatest company, super pay, I was making about 70,000/yr home 3-4 days a week great benefits, but when our daughter became mentally ill and all thestress, including false accusation, (guess that is why I conected so much with you and hubby's situation) I developed some illness including diabetes, insulin dependant which ended the driving career. So, I did what any displaced trucker would do, became a minister. God definetly has controll of our lives if we just quit fighting him about what we thing we know best.
And it is good to be home all the time these days but I still miss driving.
Anyway rambling again, take care, thanks for the prayers,
I do pray for your family every day and for his safety while on the road![/quote]

Thank you for the prayers! We appreciate them. The Lord does work in His way and His time! Sometimes it is hard to have patience but I know His Ways are Higher than my ways!

Today my husband and daughter are in Nebraska! I asked my daughter what she saw CORN, CORN, CORN and more corn.

I think she will be glad to see some mountains and sights in Colorado and Utah tomorrow.

It is hard to believe that today a year ago my husband began orientation with May Trucking! On October 16 it will be his year anniversary with Davis, about 3 months to go!

July 19th must have been the magic day, my hubby picked up a new load that day in Washington also! He is unloading tomorrow morning in Avon, Mass, hopefully after that they will head back this way! Thanks for the heads up about the guy at the yard, Dewercs2 knows who that is! Does anybody have info about using a laptop with wireless? My guy is desparate to communicate more that way but we are not wise to how it works, costs and such. Any info would be welcome.
Take care all,
Dewercs2 Wife

I have a Toshiba laptop with a Verizon wireless aircard. That is what I am using now while in Mount Vernon, MO. So far, (knock on wood) I have had zero problems with my pc or connection. Not sure what info you are looking for, but if I can be of any assistance, just ask away.

Thank you for the update. I think DD answered your questions regarding the wireless laptop. I think it maybe around $60.00 a month and you have to sign up for it. We did not do it at this time. We did not need the extra added expense. He only gets online sometimes depending what truck stop he is at.

Is training going alright for your husband? We would love to hear more regarding his experiences. Are you doing better?
