I was on the phone with them immediately. The recruiter told me TMC's hiring department gave no reason which I find odd but so be it.

I have heard from others they weren't able to get a reason either.

I am cleared to go to Orientation with Melton on Monday in Dallas, my DAC and driving record is all clear so the ONLY thing I can think of is my credit report. I maintained a 700+ beacon for a long time but my soon to be ex wife got lonely apparently while I was in the Marine Corps and ran me through the roof on credit cards making over 50k in unsecured debt. I didn't declare bankruptcy but she got it so high I couldn't pay it off working two jobs so I went through credit counseling and did it that way. The majority of the debt is paid in full or settled but it did beat the bloody hell out of my once perfect credit and I know some companies think you are untrustworthy if you have bad credit.

You have a better shot at having Mother Teresa contact you. TMC requires you to beg them for a job. You will have to call them numerous times.

It isn't a matter of begging them Snake Ize, simply a matter of proving to them that you are a consistent, persistent, dedicated potential employee, and not an insane maniac who will require a fleet manager to hold your hand every minute.

GTR silver you will probably get a postcard in the mail next week asking you to call them about your application. You can speed up the process by calling the recruiters. Be prepared for a good game of phone tag and take a double dose of patience pills.

If you would prefer an immediate response from a recruiter you could always try JB Hunt. If you want to work for a good company you do it on their terms, not your own.

I don't agree with this at all. I filled out the application and got the postcard to call them. After 10 phone calls and no response I gave up and moved on. Everybody wants safe experienced drivers. I went with a company that showed an interest in having me work for them. So are their terms that we don't call you back, keep calling us. Show us that you want to work for us. Well idiot I didn't fill out an application because I didn't want to work for you. You want us to be professional treat us like it.

No Rawlco, it is a sign of how they treat their employees. A good company policy is to follow up on applications in a short time span and at the very least to acknowledge a potential employee, not to totally ignore him. TMC shows in many ways that they do not care about the driver and it starts with the application process.

another week under my belt, nothing new to report. passed my first truck inspection, I keep it clean but spent extra time on it before I rolled into the yard and the kids in the wash bay hardly glanced inside.

Iowa and Kansas got messed up this week, I got to tarp at Lyons in the middle of a tornado warning the next county over

I was up in WI, IL, IA on my way to Des Moines for PM. While at one of our consignees the fork lift driver was unloading pipe. He didn't pick it up high enough and hit the top corner of my fairing. Of course damaged trucks have to go through Des Moines. They never got to it. I didn't get my PM either, now I'm more than 5K miles over due! Anyway, they had to get me out of there Friday before all the roads closed. I made it out OK, but was listening to the news on the way home and hearing about all the levies bursting. I may not get back up there for another week or two. Now, that really breaks my heart!

They had to get me up that way for PM at Des Moines. Anyway, since I have been on "Line Haul" I have been to CA multiple times, to CO, AZ, NM, FL, WI, IL, IA, OH and other states I am forgetting. I have finally convinced my FM to send me on some better paying loads.
