I dont believe, unless something has changed, that they know much about us in Des Moines. I was always dispatched from my dedicated FM, who differed from a reg FM. MY dedicated FM had access to the load boards, etc and had a lot more flexability than my linehaul FM's had.
One time, night dispatch called me with a heavy lumber load from Indiana to upstate NY, however since I was unloaded the night before, and knew that this wasnt a "dedicated" type backhaul, I chose to wait for my FM in the Am, which gave me a load I was expecting. ND had no idea what fleet I was on, that I pulled a conestoga, and that my dry weights were in the 32-33 range depending on fuel.

I just seen a request from TMC (on their QC) asking their drivers what they think about going paperless. Now will they go ahead and make the switch or will they have to get approval first? Will this benefit the driver or the company?

It would seem that the Paper Less pertainsonly to your mailed home payroll stubs... And not to the logs... They are doing an internet survey on the Driver's Connection asking just what everybody thinks about not having mailed home payroll stubs.. Even going as far as to asking if you got a puter and if you do is it a laptop in the trk.... if you have your own email addy... if you don't--would you consider getting an email addy and a puter from Dell with the Co discount...

Unfortunately our beautiful country living is slowly but surely being destroyed by outsiders! City folk from somewhere up north bought land 2 properties over from mine, first thing that happened, before the house was even built - 4 street type lights posted around the property, totally wiped out the night sky viewing - needless to say, myself and 3 other neighbors politely explained the situation, and they had the lights put on switches! Ughhh, move out to the country, so we can turn it into the city! Oh sorry for the rant! Glad you enjoyed the area!

Hmm, my payroll summaries were already sent to me by e-mail when I was with them! Maybe they are trying to get everyone to switch over, sure would save them a bundle in postage, paper and printing!
They were also testing 2 different paperless log systems at the time, those lucky devils with the JD fleet!

![]() And you probably will after you see how they treat you, and other drivers... In the beginnig you will probably like it, so long as you do not think too much about it. It will only get worse, but like I said, you may make a longterm employee IF, you do not think about things being done to you, customers, other drivers, etc. Ignorance is bliss, and it is the only way you can OR will stay on with this company. I hope you are not going with TMC for the "shiney new Pete's"? You will get a POS, and they are NOT upgrading them at the old 250K mileage they used to. You probably will have what ever you get assinged out of training until it breaks down too much, or reaches near 500K miles.(maybe more by the time you get near that point?) They are giving out mostly the old 387's and KW's and will continue till they die, cuz they can not sell these off very well due to the economy and the un-gawdly amount of money they try to get out of the re-sale. Not to say there are no more 379's b/c you may get lucky, and they have one ONLY because another driver left. Gee, why do you think that happened? Oops, you can not think about that...it will destroy your ignorance, thus eventually leading to you not being their employee. Some will most likely say this is BS, but it is not. I only wish I would have been able to tell you more real stuff, before you chose going with this lying, cheating, cut-throat, back-stabbing, last weeks' pay check stealing, pre-pass deposit stealing piece of dung, trucking company. (all thing done directly to me and others.) I really don't have anything against any TMC drivers, just this company's way of doing what they call business. I only hope one day it will come back on them. I also know that as long as there is another driver waiting to come in, things will never change for the better. I wish that was not the reality of it, however everyone knows that is the case.

And this is coming from someone that has absolutely no idea what they are talking about!!! And that is the facts!
Two drivers that I recruited to TMC before I left, one just now went through orientation was assigned a brand new, 3000 miles on it, 389! The other went through orientation about 3 months ago, and received on of the last 379's that came into the fleet! True there may be some older 379's with over 250,000 on the clocks, but the maintenance of those units is top notch, so calling them POS', get real! The few remaining 387's are mostly trainer trucks, unless someone request one and the KW's are pretty much on their way out. When I left, they took nothing excess from my check, and my last check was probably one of the best weeks I had, and that was on mileage, and not percentage. So piranha, go bark in someone else's backyard, and stop spreading false &%*(!. Sounds like you either never worked for TMC, dropped out before finishing orientation before finishing, or messed up! A typical no discipline BS response from someone that really did not want a career to start with. I really enjoyed having the pre-pass in my truck, it save me loads of time, and would have gladly given up the deposit, since the pre-pass saved me money and time. Being successful, in whatever one chooses to do, takes discipline, and TMC is a discipline based organization. And if you apply what they teach, you will be successful, and some day be prepared to be your own boss! But it takes want! Have a nice day!
