Beware of the loads from Tamko in Frederick, MD to the new warehouse in Rock Hill In stocking the new warehouse we are running 25 trucks a day there. That means that loads out of the consignee area will be non-existent. 15 drivers were dead meat at the Love's on 77. However, rumor has it that the warehouse is getting full and we should be running a normal schedule in to stock it. Query your FM in any event.

Just a quick question. I noticed one TMC truck the other day with an APU on it. (Believe it was a Thermo King). Is this a project TMC is trying out on specific trucks? Do any of you think they will start installing them on all trucks (such as Marten transport did)?
It seems that you guys have to idle your rigs all night on cold evenings like these. I would be tempted to bundle up and freeze overnight since TMC rewards for better fuel economy. Just wondering if idling at night effects your pay severely. I did not hear that TMC will reimburse drivers for Idle Aire either. Thanks a lot guys and safe travels! Jeffro

Jeffro Idling does not "severely" affect your pay. I hardly ever idle, so it doesn't affect my pay at all. Others idle 24/7. TMC does not reimburse Idle Air. It has been brought up in Driver's Meetings. I do not know the final result of them "looking into it."

Thanks for all the info. I was just curious. I didn't think idling effected your pay that much. I couldn't see myself idling that much either.
Idle Aire reimbursements would be nice, as long as nobody would abuse it. I'm sure, TMC is trying to keep costs low and profits high. We have all seen drivers idling all night on 65 degree evenings for what seems to be no reason at all. Then again, I know some people have sleep apnea machines, etc., and need the auxiliary power. Maybe some day TMC will use Idle Aire. I really don't know what is more economical; APU's or Idle Aire? Either would be nice. I guess thats for them to decide. Anyway, thank you all for the information. I still just need to make the decision to move into trucking. Safe travels to all! Jeffro

IM not sure if its harder to get on now or not, on the dedicated I run/ran some guys had 387's and were in the 35k range with and old conestoga, they were unable to get them a truck swap due to no available trucks. Friend was in indy and said they had 3 turned in trucks. Im sure what hiring they are doing is very selectfull, since trucks are scarce right now.

I was reading another thread about a guy quitting TMC and I was just wondering have you guys switched to cpm or are you still coming out further ahead by selecting percentage pay.
