Thanks for that. I think I figured out today what was really going on, after listening to some of the other's road test experiences. I think the instructor was intentionally trying to rattle me or piss me off to see how I'd react. So while admittedly it wasn't my best performance, I think I was beating myself up a bit. I'm coming in as experienced so I'm pretty sure I'll be in a truck by Friday, fingers crossed.

P.S. Man I hope it's anything but a 379, I mean I'll drive whatever they put under me and be glad for the opportunity, but I road tested in a 379 and was not impressed. Tiny mirrors, poor visibility, no space, a steering wheel bigger than the wheel on my bicycle. Other than looks and image, why does anyone drive those things, maybe I'm missing something.

I applied with TMC on Dec. 14 and heard from them today for those wondering how long the application process takes. Don't know if that is standard or not given the holidays during this period.

Spoke with David and he told me that my application was approved with everything checking out on the background check and previous employment. I was happy to hear that. He also told me today that I would be based out of my home location and would take the truck home on weekends.

Question: where do others park there truck and do they reimburse you if you have to pay to park it somewhere?

I have not done OTR before and haven't had to deal with this, so if anyone could offer what they do or have done I'd appreciate it.

Heck yeah! 3 days here, got the job, truck is assigned and it's a 387. Couldn't be happier.

They ask what your preference is and take that into account. Of course the needs of the company and what trucks are actually available are going to be the first priority. I asked for and got a 387, the other guy with me asked for a 379 but got a 387. Thing is, he was given the higher mileage one, so chances are he won't be in that truck for very long before it's put up for sale and then he'll have another chance at a 379 or even a 388, which wasn't even an option for him today.

Don't fall in love with it. Unfortunately, your 387 will be taken from you when it reaches it's lifespan, which will be fairly soon. I don't think the 387 experiment was successful for the company...too heavy, leaky windows, and electrical problems. Although I loved the space, I don't miss the problems.

I LOVED both my 379's. I had a sleeper and a day cab and liked both better than the brand new bloated 387 I trained in for 5 weeks. The 379 RIDES 100% nicer than a 387. Smoother, quieter and handles better than the plastic-y, leaking, electrically shorting out squeaking rattle trap called the 387. I've had both at TMC and given the choice, you couldn't bribe me to roll in a 387.

HAHAHA tell the truth! your safety rating is in the toilet and your trucks got cut back more!

Hey all you TMC guys that are sick of being treated like doo doo rung out like a wet/dirty sponge come over and work for Melton like MANY of your brothers have done! We have so many x TMC drivers we can't count em all!

And the story they tell about the cleanliness standards...interior inspections... and over all being run hard! I wouldn't work for them if they did pay good money! which they don't cuz they have to spend it on truck washing and new petes! lol

What a joke of a company!

I prefer my truck be clean... But then again that's my choice..

And running hard is getting harder to do... I loaded out LATE wednesday night, with only 350 miles to consignee, and got shut down on that load.. Trying to decide how and where to make money these days... It wouldn't have bothered me so bad, but I got 6.5 hours of sleep at the shipper... And plenty of log.. I'm thinking me and my FM is going to have to get on the same page sometime soon...
