Oh well, would have enjoyed the extra space, but I'll make due.

Not including O/Os, the only Aero truck TMC uses is the 387.

The 387 could only be about 250 lbs heavier than a 379 if even that , I drove a 387 it had a C-15 in it and it's unlaidfen wt was 17,600...I also drove a T-600 with a C-15 it had an unlaiden wt of 17,329 ,And being that the T-600 has a similar cab to a 379 ,and is about 25-30 inches shorter I don't see a 379 weighing much less if less at all .

You must have had Randy in orientation! The only thing the ECM can detect is power spikes, and they have to be significant at that. From a cigarette lighter type hook-up, anything over 75w you risk destroying the device you are using the inverter for. Over 75w, to provide the correct amperage, would need to be wired direct to the batteries. Let others tell you as they please, most are very wrong. Find the correct car adapter for your computer, spend a little more now, save allot later.

Just my 2 cents worth.

At orientation they told us that the ECM can detect the use of inverter, and that you could be fired for using one.

I've heard a few people say smaller inverters (200W or less) are fine.. and others say not to use any inverter at all because they will know.

Just wondering what people here thought...

I think he is hoping for the 379 replacements! 388 or 389's, cannot remember which. Those are going to the Senior drivers only for now, do to the extra training required on the emissions systems. The new emissions on the Pete's are PTA.

You must have had a 387 with a cummins in it. the 387's with C-15 cats are a full 2000+ heavier than the 379's. When I was running refrigerated, my newer 387 was 1200 #s heavier than my previous T-2000. With TMC add the enclosed headache rack and larger fuel tanks on the 387 than the 379, and the weight difference is huge. TMC's 387's also had steer axle weight issues, do to the placement of the enclosed headache racks. Was mighty close to over-axle.

Nope all trucks at werner had a big yellow C-15 in them

But reading your post it just seems TMC has equipped them with after market stuff that the 379 doesn't have ...Because truck 2 truck the 379 is only weighing about 150-250 lbs less than a similar equipped 387 ...And yes a short wheel base can have issues on the steers rather quickly if adding tons of stuff to the tractor , But I carried 500lbs of olympic free weight /220lbs of dumbells/and bench that weighed about 100lbs the weights were kept under the bunk and bench stored in 2 pices on the cat walk I had no problem scaling a 45,500 lb load in a 53ft dry van with full tanks ,and could go 46+ if I went half a tank I pulled bud weiser /and proctor and gamble all the time and never issue , But I did have to run my fifth whell all the way to the back to not run into issues with some of 46k lb loads ...So TMC must be putting some super heavy extras on to out weigh the nearly 1000lbs of crap I was toting on my tractor to be heavier than what I was .
