melton wont put up with the log violations like tmc did. they only have 900 trucks so it is a little easier for safety to get rid of those who choose to run illegal. one guy on the dallas yard was fired tuesday for having his tarps on his trlr after he was told not to do it previously. i was there and heard the confrontation and see that they are serious.

I've seen this kind of churn in the industry all of my life. I've been doing this for 16 1/2 years now and I myself have had 11 jobs. I can say that I have been here for over a year and I have plans on being here for atleast 1 more year. It's all about finding a company that is the right fit for you. Me personally I run primarily Texas. I get home every weekend. I finally have a life that I have never had except with local jobs. I make a grand a week and work hard for it....but that suits me.
You have to find the fit that is right for you. Some people get so caught up in the hype only to learn that life in trucking isn't what they expect and thus begins the churn. People choose companies for various reasons. The worst reason to chose a company......they have the best looking trucks.
I hate this Pete. I can't stand the tightness between the seats. You have to be a contortionist to get into the sleeper and if you have a 13" tv you will be kicking it all night long.
I put up with a truck I can't stand and shippers that waste my time because I have a good thing going. I have made good friends within this company. My family loves having me home on the weekends. I make great money. This job fits my needs. I hope you all find a job that fits yours.

Remember that weekends are for family and fun. I just spent my weekend at Sea World San Antonio. What a blast!! Boy are we sunburned.

BND thinks that he has found his promised land in reefer-land. His reasons for quitting are quite interesting, I don't exactly understand them but he will have to discuss them here, not I.

The sky is not falling at TMC. Like any other trucking company, turnover is high...not as high as most companies. IMO people get into the trucking, flatbedding, or TMC itself with messed up expectations. Flatbedding and trucking in general can be very frustrating and hard work. A lot of BS out there on the road and at shippers/consignees that has nothing to do with an individual company.

TMC is a good company that is not without fault mind you, that many people enjoy working for. Some people don't like it there.

It is just a thing man.

I know around me a couple TMC drivers have change companies and gone to Maverick in the last couple weeks I do not know the truck numbers they had since I did not see the truck but they are now driving Maverick freightliners since the only place they are allowed to park here in town there are no more TMC trucks there anymore just Mavericks and one of the guys lives here in my trailer park.

Matt left too? Now I have nobody to call me a liar when I speak the truth about TMC.

To all you dreamers out there.....WAKE UP!

Mudflap: I wish you luck in your new endeavor. I truly am sorry it didn't work out for you at TMC. It seems they will never change their ways.

I was told by a few that things are alot different since I was at TMC, but to me it seems like the same old crap. Just handed out by different people

It's also funny how this thread has died since the 2 recruiters left
