if i remember correctly, and its been a while, but trainers were required to let the trainee have 2 showers per week. not sure if that has changed. truckstop food is expensive not to mention probably bad for your health. personally, i buy granola bars and fig newtons to eat on during the week and get 3 good meals in between. i have been doing this for several years, in between my sea duty stints and found that this works for me.

Two showers a week?! I guess that would be okay if you were on a five day truck with weekends off. But on the road for 7+ days? Foul. :?

there didnt seem to be a personality problem we got along good he had a problem being a teacher i was more like a slave then a trainee he showed me one time how to secure a load then he sat in the truck from the 1st day on all he cared about was trying to get me to the point of us running as a team to pad his pockets rather then train someone. He used me to use my log book when he ran out of time i came into this career looking to learn something and make a better life for myself i was lied to from day one at TMC so i'm taking this as a lesson learned and moving on to a better company

motman68,

Will you detail the lies that TMC told you? I went back and read all your post. You seemed very exited about working for TMC. All I have seen in your post is criticism against one trainer. Is this all there is to it or is TMC involved somehow? Your anger seems to showing right now and I wonder if you can step back and tell us what went wrong whether it was TMC, your trainer or you. It will help many people out that read this thread.

my problem isnt with TMC as a company its more with the trainer i was assigned as well as my training coordinator i just dont understand how if you get hurt .why the trainer and training coordinator collaberate together to rid themselves of a hurt trainee rather then try to help that trainee .when i was prehired i was told i could go line-haul rather then long haul then when i arrived at orientation i was told i was strickly long haul .

Quitting seems to be an extreme action. Unless you have decided against TMC maybe you can call and get it straightened out. Just my take.

if you were hired as a linehaul driver, then your recruiter can fix that. those guys in orientation just see an orange line and if you live on this side then yes or the no. i live 17 miles outside of linehaul but i dont run longhaul. speak to someone in the office. if you read my posts in the past you will remember that i had to talk to someone else to get my issue resolved.

My goal is to have a shower for myself and my trainee every day. Sometimes it doesn't work out because of bad juju. Any driver/trainer that won't effort at least 2 showers a week in is a skank. Sounds like this guy was a mega skank. Hell, he was on long haul; it's completely easy to get a daily shower on long haul.
I am outside the orange line and on long haul. I do, however, go out for a few weeks to make some cash.

I meant to say that I was on outside the orange line and on line haul. Duh! TMC actually lets me train people too! Scary.

The trainer I ended up with was excellent and we almost always stopped for a shower after getting a load every day. A couple times we went two days between showers but it was when we were driving on weekends and didn't do any sweating. My first trainer thought it was OK to take one shower on Wednesday when we were out for a week. He had lots of problems with training and I left him after the first week.
