there are plenty of posts on this board that list (in itemized detail) most costs associated with operating a trucking company. I put several of them there myself but I don't do it any more. Do a search.
With current fuel prices, my cost, on a per mile basis is approximately $1.80.* *Canadian based carrier (not O/O) running drop trailers stateside, includes driver pay & depreciation

No go find the formula that has already been posted, and do the math yourself. And so help me - if you figure wages by what you think a company would pay an inexperienced driver, I'm going to find you and slap you across the head with a wet noodle. The entire point of being in business is so that you aren't earning company driver wages. If you and your daddy only want to do the minimum required, then go be company drivers and leave us businesspeople alone, because you will only be part of the problem.

1. Progressive is the only game in town for new drivers. They limit the area to a 500 mile radius. That is not the best for team driving. If we could drive the 48 states then maybe. 2. Insurance would cost me $700/mo. 3. He gets on my nerves. The week I went with him I was dying to get home. As far as getting my own truck. I could. My wife hated me not being home. She works and had to adjust her schedule to accomadate me being gone. The kids missed me. No one was home to do chores. So, I decided to keep my sort of regular job and drive a school bus on the side.

You are so full of :dung: it is dribbling out your ears. I just got the S endorsement. The school district where I was hired Thursday uses a third party tester. I used a school district bus for the test. You just can't walk in and get the s endorsement. You need to give the dmv a form from the school (2c) to even take the knowledge test. |
