The cheerleading squad is getting awfully pathetic.

Steve, Thats a fine temporary fix, but you should solder, and use a shrinkwrap with adhesive inside that activates with the heat (the best) or use a butt connector, fill it with dielectric grease, then put the shrinkwrap on it. It seems like a lot, but like said before, nobody likes electrical problems, and done right the first time, and you will likely never revisit the same location twice.

tootie, just like Steve, it's clear that you can't see the forest from the trees.

I built a cable for my inverter the other day (I was changing it from directly hooking up to the battery to going through a master cutoff switch that I have on the truck), and I started with high gauge wire, put copper connectors on both ends (soldered, of course), put heat shrink on top of that, then put the entire thing inside a conduit. Not only do I know that I'll never have a problem with that cable and DOT won't give it a second look, but I also can rest assured that a mickey-mouse electrical connection like Steve just created (for the second time) won't be burning my truck to the ground.

It only took three pages for this thread to become laughable. I'm just glad that Steve doesn't like me enough that he'd never park his truck next to mine overnight. I'd hate to see my truck burn to the ground thanks to his shoddy electrical work.

I find this funny. You guys want me to use grease, solder and shrink wrap. I think maybe you missed the application. These are the 3 wires at the end that do not connect to anything? Why would I want to strip a wire and then solder it to nothing? There is no copper showing, it's the end of the wire. Why would I want to put a connector on to connect to nothing? Why would I want to disassemble the whole wiring harness that came with the lights and replace them with marine wiring? A little much to much to do about a problem that doesn't exist.

I guess I should say my goodbyes now since I'm going to burn up in a gross and disfiguring manor.

Lets see.

Tootie: I leave to you all my ear wax I've been collecting so that you can start your candle making business plus 67 cases of booze to make White Russians.

DogCrap: I'm gonna leave my Paris to you. I'm pretty sure you can lift her over your head so you should be all set.

Gman: I leave to you a bar of Irish Spring so you can wash that blue crap off your face.

Merrick: You can have my old stash from the 70's. I've been told you like Refer.

Pepe: I'm not leaving anything for you. You've already seen the worst out of anyone, posted honestly and in the end I think you'll own a huge company that buys nothing but dry vans with aluminum floors.

Rev: Well...I really can't think of what to leave you. I just can't stop laughing.

So, if I don't post for a while you can all rest easy knowing that you all tried to save from the burning inferno that I'm sure is right around the corner. See you all on the other side.

I'll leave you my trash can/crapper. You need to promise to put a new picture that I always place in the bottom before taking a dump. I'll print out a few hundred copies for you to get started.
