Quote: By the way Rev. How about posting some numbers on your new job.
What new job? I've been hauling for the same company for over 2 1/2 years now.

Well, who ever it is your not working and yet you make fun of everyone else.

Lets see some numbers big man!!
Quote: Well, I did it. After 9 months this year of sitting around way too much waiting for loads, hardly ever getting off time (I had a grand total of about three weeks away from the truck for the entire year when I made my decision), and revenue that just wasn't there, I finally decided to pack it up and give up OTR driving.

And it couldn't have come at a better time.

I got in with one of our local branches (Wausau, WI), and will be running regional/intrastate/local for them. BUT, they have bigger plans for me in the future. As soon as I get a competent labor crew together, I'll start doing office moves, which are beginning to become a HUGE thing in this area. I'll be in a supervisory position when I'm doing that, and will be earning an hourly profit off of each of the guys in my crew. Eventually, I'll possibly end up taking over our Greenville, WI branch, as the head of the Wausau branch is fed up with the management there (Greenville is an extension of Wausau). I'd also eventaully end up putting a driver into my truck, at which point, I'd be home every night.

Why I didn't do this sooner is beyond me, but I'm sure glad I did it when I did.

Just to refresh your memory. Doesn't look like things worked out like you thought. Seems like your still sitting around doing nothing. At least your making some money in TruckZ. lol

Again, I'm still contracted to the same company I've always been. My numbers have nothing to do with the fact that you know absolutely nothing about truck wiring.

It's nice to see you go to your comfort zone once again when someone points out that you are doing something wrong. Same old, same old. Try playing a new tune, one that is more accurate.
Hey Rev those same connectors are what my Friend a Master Electrican for the Union Pacific uses to repair LOCOMOTIVES coming out of the main alternator. Those produce 4,000 amps at 600 volts AC and also can and will remove you and your car from the tracks at one time if you are on the tracks at the same time. I will take the word of someone that fixes stuff that relies on electrical power generated to move than an ARROGANT BEDBUGGER WHO BY THE WAY NO LONGER RUNS OVER THE ROAD AND SPENDS MORE TIME ON TRUKZ THAN I DO.
I knew you wouldn't post any numbers simply because there aren't any!!

In any event, I'll let you ramble on by yourself.
Steve When your truck goes up in smoke make sure you have me down for all your used wiper blades and your dust buster collection.

Thanks Mike

So how often does that enclosed compartment see SALT AND WATER?!? I bet it never does!!!!! The only things related from a truck light to a locomotive generator, is the principle that makes them work.

I'd really like to now, what Rev does in his personal life have to do with, fixing an electrical problem properly, in which it won't need attention again, or fixing it poorly, where it will need to be fixed again.
Quote: I talked to a friend of mine...he is an electrician for an RV place and he says what you did is just FINE!!

tootie
So, how many miles is this RV going to run compared to a truck? Will this RV see salt and water, on a road in 1 months time. I doubt it.

Ever noticed how the lights are mounted, on a RV, their all enclosed. Take a look at the lights on a truck, and tell me the wires are protected better on the truck than the RV. IF you do I know your lying. How because you haven't worked on lights on a truck before have you.

Of course the RV place would say it's fine. Most RV'ers don't work on their own electrical problems anyhow, they take it in. Where the dealer can repair it like crap, and expect them to come back again because they dont' know any better.
If I used these:

on any of the trucks at my job, as soon as the boss saw it, I'd be signing up for unemployment benefits.
