I agree with no_worries (what a surprise
) and I hope this guy keeps posting. I started out with that other guy hauling for mostly CH and I didn't like how it was going so I left and have only hauled a couple for them since. It's easy to blame others, but really who's fault is it? CH, the Jb hunts who take the cheap loads to get back to their customers or the dumb drivers working for peanuts?
If I don't like a situation I won't comply that's all there is to it. I started with a big company realized that mostly what that Coldfrostymug says on the other forums is true and that it was abuse and so I left.
And I don't like the Nuremberg defense either with saying I'm only doing what I'm told or what everyone else is doing.
CH Robinson is a big international company and 50 years from now will probably be doing the same thing. I hate cheap freight too but things are what they are so I feel the best things is it figure out how to work this system instead of seeking the impossible that the system will change for us. And again when I say things are what they are I don't mean that I just shrug my shoulders and go along. If I don't like something I will not comply. I don't control the world only my own actions.
I see the answer that he gave Rank that the best thing would be to buy a dry van as that is what mostly their freight is, and that most of their freight is moved by the big companies. Well that might be the best thing to move his freight or to run a big company but that tells me not to buy a dry van and try and compete with the Swifts of the world.
Of course everyone here knows I am new and am very far from a know-it-all and always seek to learn things so those are just my thoughts.
And while I don't deny I am probably running cheaper than a lot here, I put it right out there cause I realize that and look for advice on how to improve.
