Thanks DD. I have several recruiter contacting me and requesting more information. Problem is I can get to the Internet, but I don't have a printer to print out the documents they want me to sign and FAX/mail in.

I did solve the above problem this morning. My last stop on this load is to a remote site north of Van Horn, TX. It is a "space port" for Blue Origin's venture into spaceflight. I unloaded and now am empty. Since I am waiting for a load, the people here are very kind to let me use their computer network and printer. Also, there is a break room with snacks, water, and sofa. I am sure I can't/don't want to spend the rest of the day here, but for now it is very cool.

The companies I am in contacted with all have different and interesting opportunities. There is one that pay better by the mileage and has large farm equipment accounts. It uses Qual-Comm and orientation is located in the Midwest(No, it is not TMC!). I would prefer a company in the Northwest and uses the satellite less. Interesting thing about that is Schneider, whom I worked for, pioneered Qual-Comm in the early 90's and I am a computer geek. But, I have come to like cell phone technology, personal contact, and setting my own appointments.

I think I am going to get all my paperwork together for all the companies and be real slow to make a decision. The Driver Services Director asked that I don't make any decision without discussing it with her. Oh, and she gave me a name of a company north of Seattle, so I am following all leads.

Well, still waiting for a load, but this is a great place to spend it(eg. no crowded, noisy truckstop). I may have to go into Van Horn for the night. Last night, I parked outside of Van Horn and enjoyed the clear night of stars.

I like this because I don't believe I need the fastest truck(Remember I was a pumpkin driver). But keep my truck loaded so I can keep at it and I will get it to the customer on-time.

Another thing, my friend name my truck Touché Turtle because it is green, my home is on my back and at night I pull back into my sleeper. So, I like this logo with the 2 turtles on it; It is fitting. :lol: [/url]

DD and all,

I'm still stuck at home waiting for a second doctors visit. I had a specialist check me out and take x-rays. The doctor thinks I might have a fractured disc but he wants to make sure by getting an mri and bone scans done. So, I'm here at home still not making any money. :evil: I've been told to come back to the doctor on 1/15. This is going to feel like forever since I can't go do anything. I will start collecting some money from the workmans comp but it will not be close to what I was making a week.

I've told Davis that I will not be doing the lease purchase with them since I feel I'm still to new to this game. I've spoken to Systems Transport and have to send them some info. They are aware of the wreck and how Davis ruled as not my fault but they still want more info.

Everynight I watch the news about the weather and see what they are forcasting or the wrecks they show...You guys stay warm and safe out there...

You might also check for unemployment. I have heard that there are cases where you can collect both.

I made it to my customer in Oak Grove, LA at 11am local time on Thursday the 6th. I planned on waiting but the guy said I could go ahead and roll into the warehouse and they would start loading me, however, they will be going to lunch at noon and I will have to wait for the rest of the product.

This load looks a lot heavier than it really is. By looking at the truck loaded, you would think I was grossed out or real close to it but in reality the load weighs less than 44k. The best part of this load is that it is no tarp. That is like hitting the lottery with Davis…..LOL.

I did not get very far Thursday as it took the customer over 4 hours to load me. Friday I made up for a little but ended up shutting down in Salina, KS. I awoke Saturday morning at 4am with all intents and purposes of having the wheels turning by 5am. Well as soon as I stepped out of the truck, I damn nearly busted my butt because the ground was a sheet of ice.

I go inside and ask the guy what the latest weather reports for the roads were and all he said was “there’re a mess”. Wonderful, I refreshed and ready to get rolling and the weather is crap. I got online and checked the reports and the entire state of Kansas was under a winter storm warning. This was not snow, but freezing fog and rain, the bad stuff.

I decided to wait it out for a while and see if the conditions improve. Just when I am about to say the heck with it and stay where I was all day, I start hearing several reports from drivers saying the roads are wet but clear. So I decide I would creep along and if they are clear then cool, if not, I will either turn around and go back to where I was or find the nearest safe haven to shut down.

I wound up going all the way to Loveland, Co before shutting it down. As I was rolling, or I should say creeping, through Denver, I pass another Davis truck and it turns out to be Danske. We chat for a second on the CB and decide to meet up and shut down here in Loveland. We went and had a bite to eat and will run together tomorrow as he is headed to Idaho.

Just hope the weather is clear tomorrow through Wyoming and Montana (wishful thinking I know)

I know this is easier said than done, but relax and enjoy your time at home with the family. Hell, you've been through quite an ordeal, it's not like you fell off a bike.

Anyways, get better soon and I hope to see you out here even if it's in a different color truck.

Have you talked with a lawyer concerning your accident?? If not..why not. Davis has insurance on that truck, and just like auto insuurance, their insurance has coverage for your wages. Watch out for yourself, don't expect Davis or their insurance to do it for you.

12/09-10/07
Although the sky was clear blue and sun was shining bright, the temps ranged from single digits (sometimes in the negatives) to the low teens. The roads were in pretty decent shape with a few area that were snow/ice packed but the farther North, North West I went the better they got.

I ran with “danske” from Loveland, CO to Billings, MT where he got off to visit a friend. I continued on to Laurel to top off with fuel and then on to Livingston, MT where I shut down for the night. When I spoke to the customer on Friday, I had asked him if I was to get there Monday, would he want the load early. He said absolutely and told me to stop at the truck stop here in Livingston just off I-90 & 89 and to call him when I arrived. He would then come and meet me and I would follow him to a job site in Gardiner where my trailer would be off-loaded.

I called this morning (Monday) and the guy said that the contractor and his equipment have not arrived on the job site yet. He said he left a message for the contractor but thinks it might be delayed because it was /is snowing in Gardiner and he’ll keep me informed.

This is not good news for me :sad: because the sooner I get this load off the sooner I get back to Missoula to clean out and turn in this truck, then it’s off to home to spend some quality time with my family for the holidays. I have been out now for a little over 8 weeks and am ready to go home. I guess that I really don’t have much to gripe about since this load was originally scheduled to be here tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th.

I’ll update later today when I hear something.
