I guess you can not really see it in the pics, but I did toenail some boards to my dunnage (used 3" deck screws). I like the idea of carrying some short 2x4's. I should be through the house this weekend and think I'll throw some of my old V-Boards back on for just such an occasion.

Upon further reading, you are correct. Had it been a tanker trailer attached to the flatbed trailer, then it would have requried the tanker endorsement, but as a tank itself, it does not.

If the tank has been purged then all remnants of the placards need to be removed and in the one picture they are still there, maybe they were later removed?

I guess I'm not seeing them. Whoever told him to make those pictures smaller is an idiot.

But tanker endorsement and hazmat endorsement are two completely different things. But if the tank is purged, and the BOL does not state HM, then placarding at all would be illegal.

I still find it amazing that if you put a tank on a flatbed, you don't need tanker endorsement, but if that tank has wheels and can travel on a highway, then you do.

What about those that transport those ISO containers on flatbeds? I would love to know how many have tank endorsements? And those don't have wheels.

Is the container the cargo, or is there liquid inside the container?

I enrolled with Advanced Technology Institute in Va. Beach. I would have preferred to go with Tidewater Community College, but there evening class hours are 1630-0030. ATI has a more resonable 1830-2230 Mon-Thurs and 0800-1600 Sat. and Sun.

The Counselor did mention the possible need for a refresher course like you have indicated. She did offer some solutions to not having to do that (part time employment with Givens was one). I want to have my CDL before I retire and since I will retire from sea duty now is the only time available.

BTW...that is one nice WS you have there.
