Not sure, hes prolly 1000 miles from here. As mentioned above, his mpg will be off and will raise eyebrows if hes a comapny guy, and ultimately lead to his firing. Also, when his boss (if he is company guy) sees him pumping only >50 gallons at 1am, that will raise even more suspicion. If he's an o/o, he paid for it extensively, thats for sure. Kinda like those payday loan stores that charge 300% interest.

And you had no problem taking part in his thievery. That's the problem.

Better me than the next guy. Someone was gonna get a great deal. I'm not supporting terrorism, and whether he was co or o/o is unknown.

I sleep easy at night. Its okay to disagree with the idea, this is an open forum. The mixed opinions show that this is a "gray area". But those who don't pay for their fuel or have a CDL really don't know what its like to buy fuel, so its all good

This should be a poll- "would you buy 50 gallons for 50$" and since people can be anonymous, it would accuarately reflect the members of CAD.

You did not get my point. It has nothing to do with the driver it has to do with your integrity. It was the principal of the matter. You stole from his company, plain and simple.
As far as people that don't buy fuel or have cdl's has nothing to do with the discussion. It is about morals and knowing right from wrong.
By the way, I have already played the o/o game, owned my first and only truck and trailer at 22. I have also bought plenty of fuel for that truck and never once did I steal any from anyone.
Its not that big of a deal that we disagree about this subject. I just wanted to see if you would admit you were wrong and should not have stolen from the company/driver. I guess not.. keep in mind though.. .it speaks volumes about your character.

You know, that statement, in a nutshell, is what is wrong with our culture and society today. Bandit, it is not a question of who ultimately (if anyone) will "get a deal" from his stealing from his company, it is you and your own personal morals. Who cares what the next guy will do....what is important is what YOU will do. That is the lesson to carry forward....and I hope you do.

Be safe.

OverTheRoad- I have no choice but to accept your opinion. You've been mature and straightforward in your posts, and kept from making insults towards me, and I appreciate that. Contrary to what I'm trying to convey, I do get your point as hard headed as I may seem. I understand there may have been a "wrong" in this scenario, but I just don't feel it was greater on my end of the deal.

As far as getting the point, I do, its just that I don't agree. Siphoning diesel out of tanks is stealing in my book, but purchasing goods and services from another person legitamately isn't. However, as far as I know, it was his fuel out of his pocket, so 50/50 if fuel was stolen from his employer.

Raise of hands- anybody ever have a buddy that worked at Burger King that would give you free food or upsize your order for free? Anybody ever know anyone who worked at a tire shop and got free tire fix or rotation from one friend to another? I think this falls under that umbrella.

I'm not trying to say I'm right or wrong, and with the exception of a few posts, I understand where each individual is trying to convey, and where they are coming from. I respect each post as well, even if it doesn't fall in line with my point of view.

I was in the luxury hotel biz for several years and we gave away a lot of hotel property. The General Manager said use your discretion.

Everybody, including the maids, had a $2000 limit without any questions asked. Above that, you just had to justify it. Did some people make out better than others? You bet they did.

Did guest ask for two items and send you one when they checked out? You bet. Did the guest slip you a $20 every day? You bet. Did the hotel care? At $800 per night they don't sweat the freebies. This is the Ritz Carlton way of life and they're doing just fine.

The Ritz would have bought the fuel for $50, gave the guy a free shower and a meal.
