I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't like them. Wear a long sleeve shirt and problem solved.

You are going for a truck driving job. I dont think they will care to much about tattoos. the keyword here is TRUCK DRIVING JOB.

Interested to hear what the majority thinks. Specifically pertaining to a truck driver position.
You will NEVER be turned down for a job for NOT having visable tattoos. However there will always be 1000s of jobs that wont hire you with visable tats. So with having visable tatts, you are ALWAYS limiting your job choices. Would it matter in truck driving? Probably not, unless you have naked ladies and swastikas on your face...lol. But it could. And who knows if you will be still driving a truck 20 years from now. Ive seen many many people turned down for great paying jobs because of visable tattoos.

And there lies the problem. Truck drivers scream and cry about how they are stereotyped. But yet most still live and believe in that very same stereotype. I see and hear it all the time. Some guy who bitches and moans about how the average citizen thinks all truck drivers are nasty, dirty ex-felons. Yet these same truck drivers who are complaining continue to have that "don't f**k with me" attitude and a tough guy image or go into a customer with nasty pissed stained sweats and haven't seen the shower in a week.

I go into some shippers, that a lot of other drivers hate because of the way they are treated, and have no problems. Why? I'm clean cut, I take showers at least every other day, but usually every day, I wear Khakis and a polo shirt when I p/u or deliver. I present myself as a professional and when you look like a professional, you get treated like one.

The company I have worked for, on my 4th year, since leaving Swift, supplies shirts, pants, and jacket. Also a cap if you like wearing them.
I go to basically the same stops every day and/or week and am always treated well.

Some other drivers for the big carriers like Swift are usually at the docks when I happen to be there and I'm sorry but some of them, not all, look like something the cat dragged in.

Some people will not hire you just because you have a tattoo and the same goes for being black in some cases. It was said it's just a truck driving job and they shouldn't care, well, a lot do.
