My instructor is 26 years old and makes over 60k a year and so are several other prime lease owners. but there are the stupid ones who didnt know how to manage there money correctl and eneded up on their faces you might make 4000 dollars in twwo weeks and the third week -20 dollars but if you saved your money correctly and even if you didnt make money for the 4th week you still made 4000 for the month after all deductions. my suggestion to you is try beng company for a couple of months hen give the lease a try you can always turn the truck in and wont be charged and be swutched bac to company drive.keep in min ive met about 20 young people under 28 who have been leasin for a year average annd they are all making good money.Ive been treated better at prime then any 9-5 office job ive had, now only if they get me home more.

$4,000 per month after deductions = $1,000.00 per week

$1,000.00 per week
minus income tax = approx. $180.00 per week
minus health insurance = approx. $150.00 per week
minus living expenses = approx. $125.00 per week

GRAND TOTAL OF $545.00 WOW! All that money for all the headaches of playing owner operator. Where do I sign up? Never mind I already did.
So I really do know what I am talking about. Maybe if your previous job was a Wal-Mart greeter you too can say you are making much more that your previous job.

At least Walmart greeters have benefits. They are also home every night.

Actually sir, you were "close" but you forgot the Social Security and Medicare taxes.... which would be about $74.00. Now he's down to about $471.00. Woooo-hoooo, talk about being in "tall cotton".

gbigtym, son...when you get some "bark" (experience) on your backside, and have had a dose of reality or two...come back and tell us your little tale of wonder.

If Prime has made any changes....it has been Court Ordered by a Judge at the conclusion of a lawsuit against them.

Yes, there have been people who have made some money there.....and they never get home. I've talked to people who left there for that very reason....they made money, but NEVER got home or saw their wives or children.

You did all that research and yet you still went to a company that pays its "company" drivers subpar wages. Go figure.....

:?

Because..... while a "newbie" at CFI starts lower, by the end of the first year they are 35 cpm paid on PRACTICAL MILES, not hoser HHG miles, and if they are dispatched into any of the 12 NE states they get an additional 5 cpm per dispatched miles, again paid on PRACTICAL MILES, not hoser HHG miles, and if they have a Hazmat Endorsement and pull a Placarded load, they are paid an extra 3 cpm, again paid on PRACTICAL MILES, not hoser HHG miles.

Any more questions??? 8)

Oh, and CFI doesn't have to spend a fortune on lawyers to defend them from their own people.....

And one other thing.... Every driver I knew that left CFI to try to do the Prime thing.....went back to CFI. That speaks volumes. They made more money at CFI, as company drivers, than as drivers at PRIME.

Aren't you happy you asked now? 8)

Oh, one other thing.... "gbigtym" seems to think $1000.00 a week is "tall cotton"...... If thats all the best you can manage at PRIME, maybe you would better spend your time pissing on an electric fence.

In the first 9 months of last year....I made just over $43K at CFI.... as a Company Driver, and I took all the time off I could. 8)

And how much experiance do you have oh wise one? Lets compare newbie to newbie not what you made unless you are head to head in experiance. Now seeing as how you are quite the wealth of information tell me about CFI's Lease program Seeing as how you brain surgeons keep talking trash about a lease program when The poster is asking about company driver.
