Did you note the age of the OP? Very few companies hire 21 y/o's. My suggestion would be to wait another year when your options will increase exponentially.
I can tell ya from experience the age 21 thing isnt a big deal.

How exactly? Are you saying that 21 y/o's as a group are perfectly capable of being truck drivers? Most 16 y/o's THINK they are capable of driving a car but we all know what a lie that is.

The Training pay is 500 a week. I'm reading it right here in their booklet they sent me. Company drivers make 500 a week for the first 60 days. 600 for the last 30 . I drive with a mentor COMPANY DRIVER. HE IS NOT A Owner Operator. It says so in the booklet. The woman I've been working with told me the company used to be all O/O and Strict leasing. They have changed this. I'll come back and tell you all how it went... My cousin is also worked for prime I had just found out.. And he gave me alot of info. He verified all of this... I don't appreciate all the criticism. All I did was ask a question. And all I received was bull. Have any of you even worked for this company within the last year? Or you all just ranting about a company you've never worked for. It's a starter company I realize its not supposed to be a AWESOME job off the bat. It's a STARTER job. Sorry to be rude. BUT It's all I've gotten in return, with a simple question.

I have never seen or heard of a prime truck that can go faster than 70mph unless you have visited the diesel doctor.

Maybe a dumb question but what does the EH mean before 275.00?

And from what I hear in order to make good money at prime you need to drive fast and sleep little. Although I have talked to one driver who made it work for him, without having to compromise his safety or pride.

I also talked to another driver who went and leased his truck through will-trans and has been rather succesfull. Though I do not quite know if will-trans is a subsidary of prime or a seperate company altogether.

If you ask me, as an outsider, prime seems a little shady with all thier different companies and the way they have it set up.

I will also say that I have yet to talk with a prime driver that is solely a comapny driver. So I would tend to believe people about rtc.

And lastly, I hope Triple Digit Bob is being sarcastic with his post. Calling people "idiotz" and using the grammer he used makes him look a few gallons shy of a full tank and a little hard to believe.

I don't appreciate all the criticism
Then don't come on a trucking board and ask a question if you don't want criticism

Ummm, ahem....if that is the case, you may wish to consider doing this: Never ask a question or for advice on an internet forum....unless your skin is thick enough to handle the heat.

Have any of you even worked for this company within the last year? Or you all just ranting about a company you've never worked for.
Don't need to work for them. I've known enough drivers at CFI that tried Prime....and they were very experienced and well seasoned drivers who knew "trucking"....that had nary a good thing to say about "Prime".

It's a starter company I realize its not supposed to be a AWESOME job off the bat. It's a STARTER job. Sorry to be rude. BUT It's all I've gotten in return, with a simple question.
Prime is not a starter company, though it would seem that they spend a great deal of time trying to recruit the gullible who have dollar signs in their eyes. If you wanted to get on with a starter company.... you should go to Swift, Schneider, Werner, USX or one of those.... THEY are starter companies. RTC is in fact their company driver part of Prime.... but if you want to read about the experiences of people who went to Prime expecting to succeed.....just back up and use "Prime" as the searchword on ANY internet forum. You'll get plenty of "information".

Me, I don't really care who you drive for. Its your life, your wallet, and your future. Go for it. I will tell you this....in order to "succeed" with an outfit like them....you'd best be prepared to see home very seldom, and try to keep making miles, miles, miles....cuz thats how you'll get paid. Or if you're really daring.... go to CRE....they're another starter company.... but before you do, read "Spencarian's" posts about them.

You asked for wisdom and advice, you got it. That it did not affirm that which you wanted it to....was your failing, no-one else's.
