Seriously, "SayAPrayer"!!
You did come here asking for advice. In the world of trucking, bad news travels fast. This is the internet, of course, and there are posers, but I have been affilliated with CAD long enough to know something about the people who are members here!! There is a saying that I have used with every driver who came here, wanting to know about CR England, and then got into a pizzy because the answer was not what he was wanting to hear. "Some people have to pi&& on the electric fence in order to understand why there is a sign that reads: "WARNING!! ELECTRIFIED FENCE!! DO NOT TOUCH!!!!" Now, if you look at somebody like "Skywalker", he has backed a truck more miles than I ever drove one foreword. "U-Turn" and "Ian Williams" also have considerable experience. They DO know what they are talking about, and they are sincere in wanting to help you!! At the same time, when I got into trucking in my early forties, I was already financially set to retire!! BTW, this was when DJIA was DOWN about 30% & stallled, and banks were offering a whopping 1.5% on 5yr. CD's, so I did not get where I am by not knowing what a good investment or deal looked like, or what a bad investment ot deal looked like. As I began driving, I quickly learned a few things. 1st) As one of our CAD members, "littleman2" used to say, "If you want to make a million dollars in trucking, all you need to do is start out with $7 million!! 2nd) If all of those ads for L/O ads had been true, I would have been almost as rich as Bill gates. If I had believed them, I'd be broker than dust!! I've heard the "I just want to drive, I don't want to lease" refrain so many times, it isn't funny!! If a comapny is pushing a lease on a trainee, then it won't be long before they try to force it down the throat of a new driver. 3rd) L/O's never really own their truck; at best, their truck owns them!! Now, your handle is "SayAPrayerForMe"!! SAP4M, I've got news for you!! The Lord WILL answer your prayers, but the answer is not always going to be the "Yes"!!

Maybe a dumb question but what does the EH mean before 275.00? And from what I hear in order to make good money at prime you need to drive fast and sleep little. Although I have talked to one driver who made it work for him, without having to compromise his safety or pride. I also talked to another driver who went and leased his truck through will-trans and has been rather succesfull. Though I do not quite know if will-trans is a subsidary of prime or a seperate company altogether. If you ask me, as an outsider, prime seems a little shady with all thier different companies and the way they have it set up. I will also say that I have yet to talk with a prime driver that is solely a comapny driver. So I would tend to believe people about rtc. And lastly, I hope Triple Digit Bob is being sarcastic with his post. Calling people "idiotz" and using the grammer he used makes him look a few gallons shy of a full tank and a little hard to believe. My truck go 130mph but I no want to go that fast.120 is Ok,yes? This week I make 325.00.Last week I make 250.00. Good money. 8)

Or you all just ranting about a company you've never worked for. It's a starter company I realize its not supposed to be a AWESOME job off the bat. It's a STARTER job. Sorry to be rude. BUT It's all I've gotten in return, with a simple question.

What you don't or won't seem to realize is that while $500 a week is more than most companies offer during training, your training is going to last for 90 days. Most reputable companies require about a 4 week training period at around $350 to $400 per week. After this 4 week training period then you will start out around .30cpm and if you just average 2000 miles per week as a solo then you would be already at $600 per week plus accessorial pay for extras. Not only would you be ahead financially, you would not be used as cheap slave labor in a team environment running 6000 miles a week for your $500 training pay.

hi m big g i just completed my training with prime inc. I did my 100hrs of training with a permit ,which i got ec=xcellent training and paid $240 for 2 weeks they feed you your whole first week of orientation. Then i came back and passed my cdl test first time around with flying colors. my instructor was very good now the pay during my trining for around 2 and a half months will be $600 a week or 12 cents a mile with your trainer so you could make $800 dollars a week while training! contingent on how you and your trainer run, but you are guaranteed no lees then $600. my only problem is i havent been home since june 10 and now it is july 7. But i am haveing a good time. make sure you get a good trainer someone wo isnt dirty fat and doesnt take showers lol. if you feel you arent being taught contact the fleet manager and get a new trainer. good luck

p.s. dont listen to these old disgruntled bastards they dont know what the hell they are talking about. You dont have to lease the damn truck. But if you do you just have to be 1. god with managing your money get good gas mileage and have good paying freight which depends on your fleet manage. My instructor is 26 years old and makes over 60k a year and so are several other prime lease owners. but there are the stupid ones who didnt know how to manage there money correctl and eneded up on their faces you might make 4000 dollars in twwo weeks and the third week -20 dollars but if you saved your money correctly and even if you didnt make money for the 4th week you still made 4000 for the month after all deductions. my suggestion to you is try beng company for a couple of months hen give the lease a try you can always turn the truck in and wont be charged and be swutched bac to company drive.keep in min ive met about 20 young people under 28 who have been leasin for a year average annd they are all making good money.Ive been treated better at prime then any 9-5 office job ive had, now only if they get me home more.

hey say aprayer for me dont listen to these people they are dumb and uneducati did, like you i typed an exact forum and they gave me the same ridiculus false answers they are giving you?ed fat obese overweight and dirty. I am 25 years old and back in april all the way till june i did hundreds of hours of research. Prime pays there students $600 dollars a week in training. Training was excellent, most of these people are talking about the old prime, I know people who worked for prime personally for years. years ago and they said the same thing these losers are saying, all of this info is old . they have changed for the better . htey have one of the best paying scales for new drivers. You will be a good driver when you are finished with the training. rtc is a sub division of prime , that not true that you can only be a company driver for rtc, where the hell do these olfd farts get their information from. The only way to find out if something is right for you is jumping right into it, and that is what

$4,000 per month after deductions = $1,000.00 per week $1,000.00 per week minus income tax = approx. $180.00 per week minus health insurance = approx. $150.00 per week minus living expenses = approx. $125.00 per week GRAND TOTAL OF $545.00 WOW! All that money for all the headaches of playing owner operator. Where do I sign up? Never mind I already did. So I really do know what I am talking about. Maybe if your previous job was a Wal-Mart greeter you too can say you are making much more that your previous job. |
