I'm meimeimisfit. I just got funding approved and I will be going to Sage school in AZ next month. I have wanted to be a truck driver since I was very young. I raised my kids and now it's my time. This forum has helped me so much. I wish to express my thanks to you all.

Hello Everyone,
I am new here. Found your site while looking for anything that was truck related. I am the Head Administrator for a yahoo trucking group. Our group is about giving honest information to new and wanna-be drivers. We are small but growing day by day. I was an Independant Contractor leased to Transport America for a time but due to personal reasons had to step out of the truck to finish raising my kids. I am counting the days until I can return....somedays hoping they would go faster than they are. lol. I hail from the great state of Minnesota, I have two children, one boy and one girl. I have been married this time going on five years this June to a wonderful man, whom I met driving for the same company as me. If anyone has any questions or would just like to chat please feel free to IM or email me. I don't work outside the home and its nice to have some adult conversation once in a while, especially if it pertains to trucking. I miss it so much and talking with other drivers helps with missing it so much.

see I have not LOL
Well, let's see what can I say about myself? I am a 40 year old disabled SAHW who will be having my 10th wedding anniversary this coming December 14. Most of my disabling conditions are physical in nature but there is an emotional component mixed in, the list is: lupus SLE, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, TemperoMandibular Jaw Disorder, migraines, asthma, allergies, PostTraumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, major depression, hypermobile thumb/wrist joints and back pain. My father drove OTR for a number of years and I went on a trip with him in the summer of 1983 when I was 17 years old and my husband has officially finished his training and is getting his truck from TMC today or tomorrow. With my disabilities, it is doubtful that I will be doing any trips with hubby due to necessities of needing to be near doctors who have my records and needing to be sure that I would be in town for any doctors' appointments I make as well as the fun of trying to carry all of my meds were I to be on the road - it was fun enough having 2 weeks worth of my meds with me when I flew down to FL in September 2005 for a 2 week visit  That was almost one full small suitcase just for my meds. My husband is entering the trucking industry somewhat later in life but he feels like he will be happy with it and that it also will probably help my health because I have more trouble sleeping when he is home than when he is not due to the way he walks through this trailer and it is important that I get plenty of sleep because of my disabilities so that my health does not take any backward slides that are avoidable.
