How would you like it TODAY, if you made $1 an hour for your labor there? You mean like BUSH and CHENEY?? I used to WORK for the NSA! When I was there, it was absolutely forbidden to "boresight" our satellites (i.e: target America) for intelligence gathering. We had to get a SPECIAL congressional exemption even to MONITOR the tests of the Patriot Missile System being tested in California. [which BTW...failed most of the time.] ALL of this changed after 9/11.... and the advent of the Bush/Cheney "warfooting" doctrine. You are blaming Obama for policies that BUSH put into effect! If you are talking about the Obama administration, PLEASE cite some specific examples of human/civil rights abrogations that were not already sanctioned under the Bush administration.... or STFU!!! So, I guess we can't count on you to be RATIONAL if, and when, a challenge comes. You won't know the difference between AMERRICAN troops... your OWN National Guard.... and forces from the "terrorists?" TOTAL bullchit!! Have you READ Sec. Napolitano's remarks on the subject? NO... My "personal" beliefs about the sanctity or beginning of life have absolutely NO BEARING on my beliefs that, as an American, you are free to make you own choices! IF there IS such a thing as a GOD... he has given us that FREE WILL! He "alone" will be the judge. What gives YOU, or any government, the right to dictate "LIFE" issues??? I abhor gay relationships! But, I will take up arms if necessary to DEFEND their AMERICAN rights to freedom of CHOICE! And, I certainly agree that they should have EQUAL PROTECTION under the law... 14th Ammendment! Likewise, I have no REAL stomach for seeing good American troops die to IMPOSE our "imperialistic" desires for a World Democracy" on countries that don't understand or WANT such a form of government. Democracy is good... no doubt. But, that was OUR choice! And we have NO RIGHT to impose it upon OTHERS! We did not even press it upon England after winning our freedom! It absolutely ASTOUNDS and confuses me that, a nation borne of dissent from English control... which is to say... the CHURCH of England... and founded upon religious FREEDOM, and the absolute RIGHT of each citizen to be FREE from religious doctrines and RULES... would even CONSIDER any law that would IMPOSE a religious belief on its people! The Obama administration is CLEARLY against such type of contrrol. For ME.... that is a good start. That is in line with the Constitutional edict of a "separation of church and state." If Rick Perry, and the MAJORITY of Texans want to use the 10th Ammendment to say that they have a right to pass laws concerning "right to life" issues.... I have no problem with that. If that goes against Federal guidelines, and they must give up federal funds, I have NO PROBLEM! Just SEE if you can pass a huge TAX on your constituents to pay for your "values!" And make SURE that the tax is EQUAL on both the rich and the poor! And make sure it is not unconstituional, as the Supreme Court has decided. Beyond that... I couldn't care LESS what Texas does! If y'all choose to seceed? That should reduce my tax burden, as I won't have to give FEDERAL FEMA funds to rebuild your sorry asses on the coast after each and EVERY hurricane that comes through! I do not blame Obamma, he is just the icing on the cake. I blame all the damn liers that have been in office and that are in now. Hobo our freedome's are being taken away, that is plain and simple. The government is too big and now it seems it own entity. It affects everyone, Not just Christians, and what you call right wingest. But everyone. No one has the right to tell me in this free country, what I can have or not. If I want a gun of ANY kind that is my freedom and right as a human being. It is those who want power over someone else or some one who cannot abide by the simple civil laws that abide within us. that should be watched out for. But we see upstanding citizens rights being taken away, while those who heed to no law getting what they need to press there desire's and acts upon the now undefended citizens. That is just an example, even if it is a poor one it is a fact! I am not as eloquent as you in this area of discussion, but I am simple. And simple put we where free and now the big government is telling us, how we are going to live. They come into our homes and take away the right to raise our children the way we the parents seem fit. No matter what there belief. To me it is not about a religious belief, it is simply about freedom. I do not want a civil war, I do not want Texas to leave the union. I want the government to stay out of our busness, and do what it was created to do and that is it. Each state should govern themselves, that is the way it is supposed to be. Just like a Mom and Dad are supposed to raise there children. If a Christian, Wiccan, Buddist etc. wants to preach on a street corner. That is there freedom of speach. You sit there, just because of what I believe by Faith. and assume that I want to press my religion upon others. You are wrong, and of all the talk's we have had I figured you would know that.. I do not care what someone believs, I just like talking and discussing them. I do not tell them they are wrong or they are going to hell etc.. Becuase what they believe is no diffrent than what I do, and they have that freedom to believe in what they want or not believe either way.. Out discussions where based around the subjects and our boundries where set. We stayed in those boundries, otherwise it would have been to confusing. but back to the topic! It is simple A better America, is a Free America. Based upon the few simple Laws for peace and to keep people from being ruled by another. And those who cannot abide, dont need to be here. But instead they become Criminals or Government. The criminal comes into our homes and Steal, kills, and Destroyes. We have that right to protect what we have even if it requires deadly force. Government that is in the hands of power hungry people like the one that has grown over all these years, are now telling us, How to eat, how to raise our kids, they are getting to the point that they will be telling us that we cant smoke tobacco, drink etc.. They have no right. Yes they can put some rules around it in public, but the owner of the house that is his busness not the governments, it is his body etc. So you go ahead and support you dream of big government. Okay, you want to secede. You'll have to pay the rest of us back for a lot of your infrastructure--highways, military bases, hospitals (do you think we're just going to give them to you?), and all manner of things paid for by those of us in the other 49. How will you pay? Your credit won't be any good. Where are you going to get the cash?
Why not just quit the Union altogether and leave? Anywhere you go you'll find--gulp!--taxes and government. Right now, there's just one place where you run to and forget about taxes and government. It's called Somalia, which may well be Swahili for "This place really sucks." (Hell, if you set up your own state you'll need organizations that benefit your people and you'll have to pay for them. You'll still be looking at taxes and government.) Personally, I'm glad I'm able to pay taxes and I don't think government's "too big," and I don't mind helping those less fortunate than I am. No, it's not perfect, but secession won't fix that. Want highways? Government. Want to fight wars half-way around the world? Government. Want health and medical research? Sanitary sewer systems? Safe water? Police and fire departments? Government. Government. Government. If your real beef is that there's a black Democrat in the White House and you didn't vote for him and you're ticked off about that, then come right out with it. Did you folks squawk about "big government" when Bush sat in the Oval Office? Think about what happened here the last time big guys convinced little guys they should secede--one American civil war was enough. Think about the former Yugoslavia and ethnic cleansing and Serbs and Croats and brothers and former neighbors at each other's throats. Think about the economic dislocation that followed their self-indulgent little spat. I freakin' hate politics, but this unpatriotic self-righteous bully-boy talk about breaking up our country really ticks me off. We've got it better than anyone else on the planet. Quit bitching. Or catch the next freighter to Somalia. |
